Foresters, ecologists, and outreach specialists from the University of Connecticut, the CT Department of Energy and the Environment, and other southern New England institutions are partnering with Colorado State University, and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science to offer a workshop to discuss incorporating climate change into the management of forests on the exurban landscape. This Workshop Will Include: Explore climate change projections and ecosystem vulnerabilities for southern New England forests Develop actionable steps to adapt local forests to changing conditions Use and adaptive planning process to design on- the-ground treatments for a set of exurban forest plots in CT as part of a long-term Adaptive Silviculture for Climate Change research study.
