Access control• New users can request access at a

push of a button.

User permissions• By default, approved users are granted

standard user permissions.• In addition, the administrator role has

permissions to view the activatedsolutions, deactivate the solutions andremove the accounts assigned to theactivated solutions.

• User access and permissions arecontrolled by the administrators.

Cloud provider setup• Cloud accounts are used to connect to the external

cloud providers through user’s individual CALaccount.

• At least one cloud provider account has to becreated, which is charged for using the cloudprovider’s infrastructure for running SAP solutions.

Access rights and permissions• Account owners create and configure accounts of

SAP Cloud Appliance Library to manage access toSAP solutions and solution instances.

• Account owners have the ability to grant certainusers permissions for using these solutions andsolution instances.

Regions• Several regions can be activated for a

certain account (regional settings maydiffer depending on the cloud provider).

• A region designates a set of cloudprovider resources in the samegeographical area.

Cost forecast• Cost forecasting can be enabled for a

automatically, but can be adjusted in caseof customer specific prices.

Activation / deactivation• After subscribing to a solution in

SAP store, it is available in thecustomer's CAL account under“solutions” tab.

• Account owners can activate ordeactivate solutions for one ormore accounts.

• After activation, permitted userscan create a solution instance outof the solution.



Instance creation• Solution instances have several

properties that can be adjustede.g. VM size, access points,solution password.

• Cost forecasting for currentinstance.

• Operation hours for a solutioninstance can be scheduled.



Instance activation• After creation, a solution instance

has to be activated before it canbe used.

Instance operations• The following operations can be

performed on a solution instance:- Connect- Suspend- Terminate- Reboot- Edit- Backup- Restore



Connect to instance• A user can directly connect to a

solution instance through CAL webmanagement console.



Backup & restore• Backups of instance configurations

can be created to protect thesolution instance against data loss.

• Solutions have to be active orsuspended for the backup processto work properly.

• Backups can be used to restoreprevious states of a solutioninstance.
