Reflection Pastors Notes: My Dear Friends: As we conclude this stage of the journey, and as I depart to a different field to labour in the Kingdom of God, I wish to use this opportunity to say thanks to all of you for your generosity, patience and trust. I need to mention specially Fr. George and the Parish Staff: your hard and quiet work and availability made my work easier as I tried to juggle the multiple jobs I had been tasked with. The many volunteers doing the unrecognized work behind the scenes and those who with freedom exercise their baptismal call to contribute, as church, in the spreading of the Gospel, also deserve to be congratulated. Be aware of God’s presence in your life. His love and mercy that endures forever will continue to be a blessing for you. Please, pray for me, and… Behave. Fr. Eucharist to the Sick and Homebound Those who are taking the Eucharist to the sick or homebound, after the distribution of Communion, will be asked to stand to receive the commission: “My dear friends, go forth with the Body of the Lord to our brothers and sisters who are unable to be with us. Take with you our greetings and our love.”

Annual St Patrick's Parish Picnic - Grand River, Sunday, July 8th, 1:00PM-4:30PM: Come out to enjoy and support our annual parish picnic in beautiful Grand River with an afternoon of fun and community. There will be BBQ, Bingo, Children's Games, a Cake Auction, Booths, a Flea Market, and local entertainment. Everyone is invited and most welcome! Fall Choral Workshop Weekend - St. Francis of Assisi Church in Cornwall and the Knights of Columbus Council #10808 will be hosting a special weekend of choral workshops on the evening of Friday, September 21, and the morning of September 22. Conducting the workshops will be vocal coach Paul Grambo (Elora Festival Singers, London, Ontario), accompanied by Leo Marchildon (St. Dunstan's Basilica, Charlottetown). Advance registration is required and is $15 per workshop or $25 for both sessions. On Saturday evening, the 22nd, a joint concert will be presented by Cape Breton's Coro Cantabile and the Workshop Choir. Concert tickets are $15. Connolly Estate Bursaries are now available to qualifying university students in their first, second, third or fourth year. The bursaries are open to full-time university students who are male or female, Roman Catholic, and Irish in heritage. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Apply at www.owenconnollyestate.com before August 31. Recent bursaries have been in the range of $3,000/year, though they may be lower depending on market returns and the number of applicants.

God our Father, in your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect.
Also remember the Fathers that have gone before us. Grant this through Christ our Lord.
