Dinah Poellnitz You and the council are lazy. We have a city manager andparks n rec department. Why are you allowing a developer to do their joband profit. Even San Diego owns comic con convention. Griffith parkobservatory is controlled by the city. The avo can create revenue and jobsfor the city. What are you guys actually doing for Vista????!!!

I probly should havementioned that I am the owner of one of the local businesses and Ido not have a chip on my shoulder because of it. Understand if onedoes not speak up how can they help. So many different directionsin city development. It's not easy. Don't just point the finger. Makea difference.

Aaron Love That's how it works. I may not be fair. But money growon trees. They also need direction on what needs to be done first. Ipersonally had a conversation with the one who is running thedevelopment on Santa fe. About the detour turning southboundtraffic away from us. A 20 min professional conversation can go along way with the right attitude.

Claire Hyde Dinah Poellnitz hey there. I read the comments onyour page on a similar post. You want the Moonlight to be like theHollywood Bowl? I’ve lived in Vista almost my entire life, and I ambeyond proud of the way culture, arts, and locally ownedbusinesses are beginning to gain grounding here. I don’t want aHollywood Bowl. I don’t want a Belly Up. I wasn’t responsiblebuilds that reflect our resident’s needs and wants. It’s really hardto take anyone seriously who comes from a point of anger withoutwillingness to have a civil conversation, too. You call out our cityfor being lazy, so Id recommend that you attend a city councilmeeting to make your voice heard.

Dinah Poellnitz Claire Hyde yet you’re here. Joe is my friend. Thecity council and economic development director have done a poorjob including the community into the Vista’s vision andstonewalling citizens from building an authentic art & music scene. The moonlight theatre and AVO belong to vista voters. We have ayoung demographic here who enjoy music and art. Why wouldyou want vista residents spending their money outside our city forentertainment? Why are you ok with city staff not bookingvendors and entertainment to utilize those spaces to bring inrevenue greater than RENT?. It’s shortsighted to hand over to adeveloper for a rental fee without thinking about revenues in thefuture. It’s a lazy and a cheap idea. Civility only works in politiciansadvantage. They work for us not developers. Instead of tonepolicing me a non politician, you should be asking joe why are theyhanding our resources to developers? If u don’t FB argumentsdon’t reply. It’s a choice

Dinah Poellnitz Frank Sloat the city can apply for grants and statecultural district designation. They aren’t creatively city planningfor economic development. The aesthetic of new development is acookie cutter development I see all over the state and the south. We are California. This city council has us looking like Texas andArizona with chain restaurants and vacant city venues

But could it beany worse than the all night parties around my house, I think not? Iwould love to see different types of entertainment to include all.

Therenovation of the playhouse took the AVO from a derelict movie theatre toits present capabilities for youth theatre, adult theatre and communityevents. It's a beautiful theatre and it would be sad to see it torn up.

Joe Green Dinah, I’m not sure what “vision” you’d like shared. After the meeting I’ll for sure provide a video link to the discussionon this topic. As far as my city goes, my job as a council member isto focus on; Public Safety, Infrastructure, and Businessdevelopment. I have no agenda aside from insuring my city is aplace where every person can live, thrive, and feel safe. My hope isthat we will continue to build a city that my kids will want to comeback and live in someday. I’ve been a Vistan for 35years andthere’s no place I’d rather call home. If you ever wanna schedule a

meeting with me (even though you’re an Oside resident ) tobounce any ideas around, my door is always open. I hope youhave a great day, and thanks for all you do for our community.

Joe Green Dinah this is a discussion to explore potential optionswith the site that do not include the sale of any city resources. Thisis simply a discussion to explore possibilities of a full time tenantthat would dump millions into improving the city’s facility. TheAvo currently sits empty 200+ days per year as the theateraspect/use hasn’t sustained a year round attendance whichadversely affects our local businesses. Again I welcome a meetingwith you, but wanted to be clear we are not selling away any cityassets. Thanks again for your time.

Dinah Poellnitz Joe Green the AVO is empty because it’s poorlymanaged and the longer the city delays improvements increase thecost of improvements. Vista voters should own the AVO. AVO is agreat opportunity to create professional art sector jobs and tourismrevenue. I hope the city is not being cheap and giving a developer50 year lease to make profit while we are stuck with a developerspaying cheap rent.
