To operate the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump (APW PP) 2-1 (Turbine Dnven) for an extenaedperiod of operation and take suzficient data to confirm the reliability of the pump and
auxiliaries and meet the requireaents or tne NRC revxsea recommenaatxons f2 of'AdditionaiShort Tenn Recommendations" pranulgated based on 'rMI-2 concerns.

The turbine ariven ABl Pp. 2-1 will be aligned to supply water to tne steam generators ana
return to the condensate storage tank via the condensate regect loop fraa the hotwell.
With the reactor at a power level sufficient to supply steam to tne AFW PP. turbine atrated teaperature and pressure, the turbine stean supply valves w&l be op ned down to thetnrottle trip valve ana the steam lead warmed. The throttle trip valve wu.l be latcheaand the turbine brought up to speed using the throttle trip valve with the punp on
recirculau.on only, allowing the uaxt to operate on recirculau.on untW initim cheese arecanplete. After an initial inspeotion of all canponents has been canplc ted, the dischargevaLve wall be opened ana flow will be established supplying feeawater to tne steam
generators for a minimun of 48 hours.
Data will be r ecorded at regular intervals as described on the aata sheets. (Appenuix B).At ihe end of 48 hours, the punp.and turbine will be shutdown and allowed to cool untilpunp temperatures reauce to within 20 Deg. F of their values at tne start of me 45 hourtest and at least 8 hours have elapsed. Following cooldown the punp will be restartedana run supplying feedwater to the steam generators for one hour ana all data points wtlLbe recce ded.
