ANY PLAN REFERENCES TO "SMACNA FIGURE ---" REFERS TO THIS STANDARD. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR SCHEDULE OF DUCT PRESSURE CLASSAND SEAL CLASS.
15. IN GENERAL, THE FINAL FLEX DUCT RUNOUT TO EACH DIFFUSER, REGISTER, OR GRILLE IS NOT SIZED ON PLANS. FLEX DUCT RUNOUT SIZE SHALL MATCH AIR OUTLET NECK SIZE,UNO.
16. IT IS THE INTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS THAT A MANUAL BALANCING DAMPER BE PROVIDED AT EVERY INDIVIDUAL DUCTED CONNECTION TO AN AIR DEVICE, UNLESS A BALANCINGDAMPER IS SCHEDULED TO BE FURNISHED WITH AIR DEVICE. VAV BOXES WITH SINGLE DIFFUSERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A BALANCING DAMPER.
17. ALL NEW DUCTWORK SIZES SHOWN ON PLANS ARE CLEAR INSIDE DIMENSIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST SHEET METAL SIZES AS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE INTERNALDUCT LINER, IF SPECIFIED.
18. ALL EXISTING TEMPERATURE CONTROLS THAT ARE BEING DEMOLISHED OR DISABLED AS WORK OF THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE COMPLETELY REMOVED FROM BUILDING. THE T.C.CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UPGRADING ALL PNEUMATIC CONTROLS, ACCESSORIES, ETC. TO DDC WHETHER INDICATED ON PLANS OR NOT.
19. THE AIRSIDE AND HEATING HYDRONIC SYSTEM SHALL BE MEASURED AT EACH AIR HANDLER AND VAV BOX BY A CERTIFIED T&B CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO DEMOLITION. THE RESULTSSHALL BE SUBMITTED TO ENGINEER FOR RECORD PURPOSES PRIOR TO SUBMITTING NEW EQUIPMENT.
20. CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE THE DOCUMENTS REVIEWED COMPLETELY BY A CERTIFIED BALANCING CONTRACTOR FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE NECESSARY ADDITIONAL AIR ANDHYDRONIC SYSTEM BALANCING DEVICES NOT SHOWN IN THESE DOCUMENTS FOR COMPLETE HVAC SYSTEM BALANCING. REFER TO SPECIFICATION SECTION 230593 FORCONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT EXAMINATION REPORT.
21. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONNECT THE NEW HVAC SYSTEM TO THE OWNER'S EXISTING BUILDING CONTROL SYSTEM. REFER TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONALREQUIREMENTS
22. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT SOME SYSTEMS (I.E. GENERAL EXHAUST) ARE REQUIRED TO BE BALANCES MORE THAN ONCE TO ASSURE DESIGN AIRFLOWS ARE PROVIDED.
23. FOR ALL SUSPENDED HVAC EQUIPMENT THAT WEIGHS 31 POUNDS OR MORE, LOCATED IN OR ABOVE OCCUPIED SPACES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPORT THE EQUIPMENT TOPREVENT IT FROM FALLING FROM OR THROUGH THE CEILING IN THE EVENT OF A TERRORIST ATTACK(EXPLOSION). THIS SHALL INCLUDE BUT IT NOT LIMITED TO ALL VAV BOXES,ETC. SUPPORTS SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY AND SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW.
24 ALL PUBLIC SPACES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH SENSOR ONLY TYPE THERMOSTATS TIED INTO BAS. PRIVATE SPACES TO BE PROVIDED WITH ADJUSTABLE THERMOSTATS.
25 NEW THERMOSTATS TO CONTROL NEW VAV AND NEW FINNED TUBE CONTROL VALVE (WHERE APPLICABLE) SEE SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS FOR MORE INFORMATION.

1. THESE PLANS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC IN NATURE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE PREPARED TO MAKE SOME ALTERATIONS TO THE EXACT LOCATION OF DUCTWORK, PIPING ANDEQUIPMENT FROM THE LOCATION INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS TO FIT ACTUAL JOB CONDITIONS.
2. ALL ELBOWS, FITTINGS, ETC., IN PIPING AND DUCTWORK REQUIRED TO CLEAR ALL JOB OBSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT NECESSARILY INDICATED. ALL NECESSARY TRANSITIONS, FITTINGSAND OFFSETS ARE REQUIRED WHETHER SHOWN OR NOT.
3. BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE TO INSTALL ALL OF THE MECHANICAL WORK, COORDINATION BETWEEN THE VARIOUS TRADES IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

WHERE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO CONCEAL NEW WORK, REMOVE OR MODIFY EXISTING CONSTRUCTION OR EQUIPMENT, OR ATTACH TO EXISTING CONSTRUCTION, THECONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR OR REPLACE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS TO MATCH CONDITIONS AT THE ONSET OF CONSTRUCTION. CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL BE CAPABLE OF OPERATING IN OCCUPIED OR UNOCCUPIED MODES. AN OVERRIDE SWITCH SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH UNIT TO ALLOW UNITS OPERATE IN OCCUPIED MODE FOR 2 HOURS (ADJ).
THE UNIT IS AN AIR HANDLING UNITS EQUIPPED WITH THE FOLLOWING:
- SUPPLY FAN - HOT WATER HEATING COIL- MERV-8 FILTER BANK
EQUIPMENT CONTROLLED OUTSIDE OF AHU:
- OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER- RELIEF/EXHAUST AIR DAMPER- OUTSIDE AIRFLOW MEASURING STATION FURNISHED BY AHU MANUFACTURER.
OCCUPIED MODE:PROGRAMMED OPERATING SCHEDULE SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE OWNER.
SUPPLY FANSTART/STOP: UPON RECEIVING A SIGNAL TO START, AFTER A 60 SECOND (ADJ) TIME DELAY TO ALLOW ASSOCIATED SMOKE DAMPERS TO OPEN, THE BAS SHALL START THE SUPPLY FAN VIA THE VFD. OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL OPEN TO ITS MINIMUM POSITION.
THE BAS SHALL VARY THE SPEED OF THE SUPPLY FAN VIA THE VFD TO MAINTAIN THE SUPPLY AIR STATIC PRESSURE SET POINT.
INSTALL A CURRENT STATUS SWITCH TO PROVE SUPPLY FAN OPERATION. LOCATE SWITCH SO IT CAN SENSE FAN OPERATION IN BOTH NORMAL AND BYPASS MODE OF THE VFD.
HIGH STATIC ALARM: INSTALL A PRESSURE SENSOR DOWNSTREAM OF THE SUPPLY FAN BEFORE ANY COILS, DAMPERS, FILTERS, ETC. THE PRESSURE SENSOR SHALL BE HARD WIRED TO THE SUPPLY FAN. IF THE STATIC PRESSURE EXCEEDS THE SET POINT OF 3” WC (ADJ), THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL SHUT-DOWN, REQUIRE A MANUAL RESET, AND AN ALARM SHALL BE SENT TO THE BAS.
UNOCCUPIED MODETHE UNIT SHALL CYCLE TO OCCUPIED MODE OPERATION EXCEPT AS NOTED HEREIN TO MEET THE UNOCCUPIED SPACE TEMPERATURE SET POINTS (78°F SUMMER AND 65°F WINTER). THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL BE FULLY CLOSED DURING ALL UNOCCUPIED HOURS EXCEPT WHEN OUTSIDE AIR ENTHALPY IS LOWER THAN RETURN AIR ENTHALPY WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER TO MODULATE TO PROVIDE 55°F SUPPLY AIR.
MORNING WARM-UPENABLED AT OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURES BELOW 50°F (ADJ).
PRIOR TO OCCUPIED MODE BEING ENABLED, AT A TIME DETERMINED BY THE BMS BASED ON OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE AND THE HISTORIC TIME IT TAKES THE INDIVIDUAL ZONES TO REACH OCCUPIED SPACE TEMPERATURE SET POINTS, THE UNIT SHALL ENTER THE MORNING WARM-UP MODE. IN THIS MODE, ALL VAV BOXES WHOSE SPACE TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW THE OCCUPIED HEATING SET POINT SHALL MODULATE THEIR DAMPERS FULLY OPEN. THE AIR HANDLING UNIT’S DISCHARGE SET POINT SHALL BE SET FOR 90°F. ONCE THE SPACE TEMPERATURE REACHES THE OCCUPIED MODE HEATING SET POINT, THE VAV BOXES DAMPERS SHALL MODULATE TO THEIR CLOSED POSITION. ONCE EVERY SPACE HAS REACHED ITS OCCUPIED MODE HEATING SET POINT OR MORE THAN 10% OF THE SPACES HAVE EXCEEDED THEIR COOLING MODE SET POINT, THE AIR HANDLING UNIT SHALL RETURN TO ITS NORMAL OCCUPIED MODE OPERATION.
FILTERSPROVIDE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSORS ACROSS FILTER BANK.
PROVIDE AN ALARM TO THE OPERATOR’S WORKSTATION IF DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE EXCEEDS SET POINT OF 0.75” WC (ADJ) FOR MERV-8 PRE-FILTERS.
SMOKE DETECTOR SAFETIESDUCT MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE HARDWIRED INDEPENDENT OF THE BMS TO DE-ENERGIZE SUPPLY AND RELIEF AIR FAN VFD'S AND CLOSE OUTSIDE AIR AND EXHAUST AIR DAMPERS AFTER 90 SECONDS (ADJ) DELAY.
COOLINGWHEN THE MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS ABOVE SET POINT OF 52°F (ADJ), THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR IN SEQUENCE:
THE HEATING CONTROL SHALL BE LOCKED OUT WHEN UNIT IS IN COOLING MODE.
IF OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS LOWER THAN RETURN AIR TEMPERATURE, THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL MODULATE OPEN TO SATISFY SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SETPOINT OF 55°F (ADJ).
IF OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS HIGHER THAN RETURN AIR TEMPERATURE, THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO ITS MINIMUM POSITION.
HEATINGUPON A CALL FOR HEATING FROM THE SPACE THERMOSTAT, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR IN SEQUENCE:

B. CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS IN FIELD PRIOR TO COMMENCING DEMOLITION. ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN FIELD CONDITIONS AND THESE DRAWINGS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ENGINEERS ATTENTION PRIOR TO COMMENCING DEMOLITION.
