FLAGSHIP CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS

Students completing a Flagship program will

take their place among the next generation

of global professionals by leveraging their

superior language and cultural skills in federal and state governments, global businesses,

and nongovernmental organizations.

FLAGSHIP FEDERAL SERVICE INITIATIVES

Boren Flagship Scholars are Flagship students

interested in government service who apply

to the David L. Boren Scholarship to fund the

Overseas Capstone Year—cultivating

professional language proficiency and

producing high-quality candidates with a

federal service opportunity.

The ROTC Flagship Initiative is a scholarship

program, which focuses on the strategic

language and culture needs of future U.S.

military officers through Flagship domestic

and overseas programs.

The goal of The Language Flagship is to change the way Americans learn languages.

Flagship leads the nation in implementing both

domestic and overseas advanced language

instruction at the undergraduate level with the

expectation that all Flagship students can

achieve professional-level proficiency in a

language critical to U.S. national security and

economic competitiveness.

DOMESTIC FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS

The Domestic Flagship programs allow

students from all academic majors to pursue

meaningful language and culture

development alongside other academic

pursuits through:

Intensive language instruction

Individual and group tutoring sessions

Immersive learning environments

Cultural activities and events

Assessments tracking language acquisition

progress Summer domestic and overseas programs

for maximum language and culture

exposure

OVERSEAS FLAGSHIP CENTERS

After completing a Domestic Flagship

Program, students who demonstrate high-level

language proficiency participate in a

Overseas Capstone experience, all of these

intensive programs include:

Direct enrollment at overseas universities

Homestay opportunities

Professional internships that require high-

level language use in their career field
