Hotfix application

Kentico CMS 5.5 R2• Difficult process since 5.5 R2 supports only web site• DLLs, libraries and database without problem• Hotfix must be applied locally not on AzureProblem:

Web site doesn‘t contain designer files

Solutions:– Delete designer files of hotfixed files in solution tree (in Visual studio)

and click convert to web application after hotfix is applied– Apply hotfix to web site and then convert to web application whole

Q: How to use full text in Azure ? A: Since SQL Azure doesn‘t support full text

search only way is to use Kentico CMS smart search module.

Q: Why Azure support in 5.5 R2 is limited to only one instance?

A: Application in Windows Azure must be stateless. Web farm module in 5.5 R2 cannot be used for synchronizing of static objects. Also Azure drive works only with one instance for read/write in same time.

A: Full support is planned to version 6.0, with 5.5 R2 you can try Azure platform, you can run there simpler sites. Also use most of the benefits of this platform with 5.5R2 including scalability.

Q: How can I get license for my staging hosted service?

A: You can ask for license to our support guys. When you will test different versions of your application we recommend you to use Upgrade for redeployments instead of deleting and creating new services (domain name stay the same in this case).
