Prayers Before Teachings

I off er homage to the vajra masters and glorious buddhas of the three times.

My mind free of duality, I take refuge in the fi eld of the Three Jewels.

Please accept my pure off erings of riches, real and imagined.

Without exception, I confess my misdeeds, hindrances that impede the river of a ainment.

Without engaging in a achment, I rejoice in the three wheels of pure dharma throughout the ten directions.

I generate the complete and perfect mind of awakening that is not stained by the four extremes.

To the sugatas and bodhisa vas, I off er the body of the three purities [the universe, its beings, and their mindstreams].

Having gathered all the virtues enumerated in the succession of my lifetimes, I dedicate them to supreme awakening.

The [Universe] Mandala Off ering

This ground purifi ed with perfumed water and strewn with fl owers,Mount Meru, the four continents, the sun, and moon:Having off ered them as a buddhafi eld,May all beings experience the pure realms.

IDAM GURU RATNA MANDALA KAM NIRYATAYAMI

Request for Teachings

According to the inclinations and capacities of all beings, we supplicate you to turn the wheel of Dharma—the universal, individual, and common vehicles.

Long Life Prayers

A Long Life Prayer for the Tulku of H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, Blossomed Lotus Buddha, Guide of All Beings, Exalted One who Accomplishes the Enlightened

Activity of the Vidhyadaras

Above the thousand petals of the Lotus Buddha’s compassion, In the pollen heart blossomed with a wondrous emanation,Has appeared the guide of all beings, the envoy of the victors, the incomparable enlightened form,The merit and glory of fortunate disciples.

You are the effl orescence of the vidyadharas, the great being of the three secrets, the wish-fulfi lling lord,Present here solely to fulfi ll the hopes of all beings in the three planes of existenceWhose needs and desires are met through your eff ortless enlightened activity. In ever-lasting essence, may your life remain fi rm.

Through the power of the truth of the ocean of the Three Jewels and the Three Roots And through the strong abilities of the fi ve classes of male and female oath-bound ones, May the intent of our wishes and those of others spontaneously achieve fruition, And unhindered, may the great waves which benefi t beings reach perfect completion.

At Shay-u Do, in the the region of Do-Kham (East Tibet), the child born in the family of the supreme spiritual master Tulku Jigme Chokyi Nyima has been unmistakably recognized as the second Dudjom Rinpoche, the reincarnation of the lord of refuge Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje. Since many great individuals, non-sectarians who are well-known throughout the Ancient and New schools, have unanimously confi rmed the prophecies and signs, I am certain that it is true. Therefore, I, Sangye Dorje, the foolish, least worthy servant of the last incarnation of this master, have carelessly wri en this long-life prayer in a few words related to the off ering of a name. May this prove virtuous and pleasing! Translated by Dechen Yeshe Wangmo

Long Life Prayer for Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche

OM SWASTIFearless Heruka, fully accomplished in yogic discipline, Awareness holder with the power of longevity, successor of Pema, Bearer of the power of the enlightened activity of the hero Lord of Secrets (Vajrapani), Glorious excellent jewel: may your life be fi rm, I pray.

Wri en by Jigdral Yeshe Dorje. Translated by Dechen Yeshe Wangmo.

As requested by Regina, this long life prayer for Lama Tharchin was wri en on the tenth day of the sixth Tibetan month, the birthday of Guru Rinpoche according to the Gong Du Terma tradition by Thinley Norbu. Translated by Kyabje Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche.

Long Life Prayer for Dechen Yeshe Wangmo

OM SWASTIThrough the powerful blessings of the immortal Pema Jungnay and his consort,May the three secret qualities of the dakini of supreme bliss, Yeshe Wangmo,Be u erly stable, and may the light of her activities Shine on the lotus groves of the teachings and of beings so that they blossom with radiant splendor.

In response to a request, accompanied by a scarf and a gift, from the vajra brothers and sisters in the Hawaiian Islands, this aspiration was made by Tsedrup Tharchin, who has the appearance of a tantrika and is called the tenth generation in the line of Bakyang-lung family of Repkong. May this prayer prove meaningful. Translated by Lama Ngawang Zangpo.
