A safety data sheet giving further details is avail able for each Clariant product introduced here.
The toxicological and ecological proper ties were tested on typical prod ucts in the range. The vast majority of products have very good toxicolo gical and ecotoxicological proper-ties. The most recent values are given in the safety data sheets.
TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Acute oral toxicityThe acute oral toxicity (LD50) of most products is > 2,000 mg/kg (rat or mouse).
When handling Ceridust 9202 F, Ceridust 9205 F, Ceridust 9610 F, Ceridust 3920 F, Ceridust 3940 F, Ceridust 9630 F and Ceridust 3941 F, the usual pre cautions for products containing PTFE should be observed. It is essential to avoid contamination of clothes and tobacco. Dangerous decomposition products can be formed at tempera tures above 300 °C.
Status according to (CLP) EC 1272/2008The products mentioned here do usually not require a hazard warning label under the CLP regulations on dangerous substances (EC 1272/2008).
Wax emulsifier 2106 has to be labeled with N, R 50/53.Wax emulsifier 4106 has to be labeled with Xn, N, R 22, 38, 41, 50.
Notes on handling powdersWhen handling organic powders, VDI Directive 2263 “Prevention of dust fires and dust explosions” or the corresponding national regulations should be observed.
Status according to the European chemicals law (REACH)The products mentioned in this data sheet or its monomers are either preregistered, registered or as polymer exempt from registration (EC 1907/2006).
Status under food legislationA number of the products mentioned here are permitted to be used as indirect additives under the food legislation of the Federal Republic of Germany and other countries, or comply with the recommendations of government health departments. These products may thus be used for the manufacture of consumer commodities which come into contact with food. Detailed information is available upon request.
