• Piloting your blogging service– Offer a trial service– Low-risk – Offers an exit or withdrawal strategy
• Small-scale activities– Blog for special events or one-off activities
– Provides the opportunity to experiment
– No ongoing costs or commitment
Policy and Quality Assurances
• Develop robust policies (Briefing Paper 7) outlining scope, audience, content and purpose
• Include a statement in your blog policies that you welcome feedback and notification of errors, which will be addressed as quickly as possible

Participation
• Participate on group blogs outside of your institution i.e.. library association sub-group blogs
• Develop your ‘voice’ to build confidence – comment on blogs from colleagues
• Blog outside of work i.e.. societies, reading groups, chartership candidates, etc.
