During the course of a two year periodwhich extended from about early 1995to the Spring of 1997, I undertook aserious study of some of the morequestionable ideas and theories whichhave become quite prominent in

Western society since the early part ofthis century.

Labeled as 'fringe ideas' by most level-headed people, this study included anin-depth look into such areas as the

Alien/UFO phenomenon, government

conspiracy theories, New Age thoughtand other related topics. Inundertaking this study, like mostpeople, I was partially motivated bymy own curiosity, as well as by apersonal desire to expand myunderstanding of such matters so thatI could write about them in a more

knowledgeable fashion. To emphasizethe degree of dedication to which Iperformed this research, allow me toinform you that at one point, I hadcollected over one thousand and threehundred files related to these differentareas of thought. These files included

hundreds and hundreds of reports,personal testimonies, book extracts,commentaries, and some of the bestUFO photographs available via theInternet. I spent a great deal of moneyand time to collect this information;and I read every single bit of it; aproject which took me literally monthsand months to complete.

What I quickly discovered during thistime is that there is a worldwide bodyof people who have invested a greatdeal of time, energy, money andthought in their attempts to sort factfrom fiction.

Please note that I am not just referringto the common imaginative kooks who

obviously have something looserattling around in their brains; but Iam referring to serious study groups

which are organized and staffed bypeople with very professional

backgrounds. The purpose of theseorganizations is to gather andcarefully analyze as much informationas is humanly possible. Some of thesepeople work on very limited budgets.

Even as a Christian, I must candidlyadmit that a lot of the information Icame across is very interesting; someof it even to the point of being quitefascinating. Despite my long

and my attempts to maintain a healthydegree of skepticism, at times, I toofound myself being drawn into the

web of delusion which has overcomesome of those people who are notfamiliar with God's Word and the

warnings that it offers. I imagine that

it is only the Lord's mercy that I toowas not completely deluded as some ofthese others have been. The reason Iam sharing this with you is toemphasize the powerfully deceptivenature of some of this material. Iexpound more fully upon this topic inother of my alien/UFO and New Agerelated articles; as well as in some of

my Endtime articles. I trust that youwill take the time to read them.

One particular topic which is wellestablished within these circles ofthought, is that of the idea of theexistence of underground civilizationsand secret bases operated either byadvanced alien civilizations, by thedescendants of Nazi Germany, by U.S.

Government shadow organizations, orby ancient human or semi-humancivilizations which fled underground a

very long time ago. In some cases, it isclaimed that these underground basesand cities are joint human-alienendeavors.

In studying this phenomenon, onecomes across such topics asMount

Shasta and Telos, Shamballah andAgharta, Death Valley and thePanamint Mountains, Dulce, NewMexico, Tibet, the Gobi Desert, IronMountain, Alice Springs, the ShaverMysteries, the Teros and the Deros,the Atlanteans and the Lemurians,

the Mothmen, the Greys, theReptilians, the Nordics, etc.

Being as plenty of information, as wellas dis-information, has already been

written on these various subjects, Iwill only be discussing a few of these

later on in this article. What I wish toaddress at this current time is onecentral theme which encompasses allof these different topics; that is, theHollow Earth Theory.

According to the proponents of thistheory, contrary to what is stated inmodern science books, the Earth is not

a solid sphere with a molten or semi-molten iron core; but rather it is moreakin to a hard-boiled egg in whichmost of the white, or the albumen, has

been removed, leaving the yolkfloating in the middle of the egg withan empty space existing between it,that is, the yolk, and the remainingalbumen, which itself is protected bythe hard outer shell.

To put this in more geological terms,the adherents of the Hollow EarthTheory state that this 'yolk' is inactuality a nuclear mini-sun whichprovides both light and life to thispurported inner world. In other

words, the Earth is actually a hollowsphere with a mantle much less thickthan what we have been taught, and

without an outer or inner core.

The inner surface of this mantle isactually the ground of the Inner Earth.It is claimed that the reason that themini-sun does not crash into the innersurface of the Earth during its

revolution around the Sun, is due tothe energy released by this mini-sunacting as a repulsive force which keepsthis mini-sun equidistant from allsurfaces of the Inner Earth; a theory

which I personally find hard to accept.

According to this theory, it is also saidthat the center of gravity is not in thecenter of the Earth, but rather in themiddle of this much thinner mantle,

which is just below the crust. In otherwords, just as a ball will drop to theground if one is standing on theoutside of the Earth, the very same

thing will happen if one is standing onthe inside of the Earth as well; that is,the ball will drop towards the ground,meaning, towards the outer surface ofthe planet, and away from the innersun.

In like manner, these theorists claimthat just as we look up and see the skyaround us with the sun travelling its

daily course due to the Earth'srotation, an inhabitant of the InnerEarth also sees a blue sky, albeit asomewhat hazy one, with the innersun floating in the midst of it.

It is also believed by the adherents ofthe Hollow Earth Theory that thisinner world possesses valleys andmountains, and streams, rivers, lakesand oceans. It is the proposed origin ofall of this water which leads us to thenext part of our discussion.

According to a certain questionablepublication, a small bookletdistributed by a company in the state

of Missouri, U.S.A., in early 1947,famous American aviator AdmiralRichard E. Byrd was sent on an Arcticexpedition by the United StatesGovernment for the purpose ofdetermining the feasibility of mininguranium in the Arctic Circle.

If we believe what follows, onFebruary the nineteenth, just aftercompleting three hours into his flight,

Admiral Byrd had an experience whichtotally changed his outlook on life, andhis personal view of the AmericanGovernment as well.

Here then are what some people claimto be actual extracts from Byrd's secretdiary for the months of February andMarch of that year, and then somefinal remarks recorded nine years laterin 1956 just prior to his death:

I must write this diary in secrecy

and obscurity. It concerns myArctic flight of the nineteenth dayof February in the year ofnineteen and forty seven.

There comes a time when therationality of men must fade intoinsignificance and one mustaccept the inevitability of the

Truth! I am not at liberty todisclose the followingdocumentation at thiswriting...perhaps it shall neversee the light of public scrutiny,but I must do my duty and recordhere for all to read one day. In aworld of greed and exploitation of

certain of mankind can no longersuppress that which is truth.

FLIGHT LOG: BASE CAMPARCTIC, 2/19/1947

0600 Hours- All preparations arecomplete for our flight northwardand we are airborne with full fueltanks at 0610 Hours.

0620 Hours- fuel mixture onstarboard engine seems too rich,adjustment made and PrattWhittneys are running smoothly.

0730 Hours- Radio Check withbase camp. All is well and radioreception is normal.

0740 Hours- Note slight oil leak instarboard engine, oil pressureindicator seems normal, however.

0800 Hours- Slight turbulencenoted from easterly direction ataltitude of 2321 feet, correctionto 1700 feet, no furtherturbulence, but tail windincreases, slight adjustment inthrottle controls, aircraftperforming very well now.

0815 Hours- Radio Check with

base camp, situation normal.

0830 Hours- Turbulenceencountered again, increasealtitude to 2900 feet, smoothflight conditions again.

0910 Hours- Vast ice and snowbelow, note coloration ofyellowish nature, and disperse ina linear pattern. Altering coursefor a better examination of thiscolor pattern below, note reddishor purple color also. Circle thisarea two full turns and return toassigned compass heading.Position check made again tobase camp, and relay informationconcerning colorations in the iceand snow below.

0910 Hours- Both magnetic andgyro compasses beginning to

gyrate and wobble, we are unableto hold our heading byinstrumentation. Take bearingwith sun compass, yet all seemswell. The controls are seeminglyslow to respond and havesluggish quality, but there is noindication of icing!

0915 Hours- In the distance iswhat appears to be mountains.

0949 Hours- 29 minutes elapsedflight time from the first sightingof the mountains, it is no illusion.

They are mountains andconsisting of a small range that Ihave never seen before!

0955 Hours- Altitude change to2950 feet, encountering strongturbulence again.

1000 Hours- We are crossing overthe small mountain range andstill proceeding northward as best

as can be ascertained. Beyondthe mountain range is whatappears to be a valley with asmall river or stream runningthrough the center portion. Thereshould be no green valley below!Something is definitely wrongand abnormal here! We should beover ice and snow! To theportside are great forests growingon the mountain slopes. Ournavigation instruments are stillspinning, the gyroscope isoscillating back and forth!

1005 Hours- I alter altitude to

1400 feet and execute a sharpleft turn to better examine thevalley below. It is green witheither moss or a type of tight knitgrass. The light here seemsdifferent. I cannot see the Sunanymore. We make another leftturn and we spot what seems tobe a large animal of some kind

below us. It appears to be anelephant! NO!!! It looks more likea mammoth! This is incredible!

Yet, there it is! Decrease altitudeto 1000 feet and take binocularsto better examine the animal. Itis confirmed - it is definitely amammoth-like animal! Reportthis to base camp.

1030 Hours- Encountering morerolling green hills now. Theexternal temperature indicatorreads 74 degrees Fahrenheit!Continuing on our heading now.Navigation instruments seemnormal now. I am puzzled over

their actions. Attempt to contactbase camp. Radio is notfunctioning!

1130 Hours- Countryside below ismore level and normal (if I mayuse that word). Ahead we spotwhat seems to be a city!!!! This isimpossible! Aircraft seems lightand oddly buoyant. The controlsrefuse to respond!! My GOD!!! Offour port and starboard wings area strange type of aircraft.

They are closing rapidlyalongside! They are disc-shaped

and have a radiant quality tothem. They are close enough nowto see the markings on them. It isa type of Swastika!!! This isfantastic. Where are we! Whathas happened. I tug at thecontrols again. They will notrespond!!!! We are caught in aninvisible vice grip of some type!

1135 Hours- Our radio cracklesand a voice comes through inEnglish with what perhaps is aslight Nordic or Germanic accent!

The message is: 'Welcome,Admiral, to our domain. We shallland you in exactly sevenminutes! Relax, Admiral, you arein good hands.' I note the engines

of our plane have stoppedrunning! The aircraft is undersome strange control and is nowturning itself. The controls areuseless.

1140 Hours- Another radio

message received. We begin thelanding process now, and inmoments the plane shuddersslightly, and begins a descent asthough caught in some greatunseen elevator! The downwardmotion is negligible, and wetouch down with only a slight jolt!

1145 Hours- I am making a hastylast entry in the flight log. Severalmen are approaching on foottoward our aircraft. They are tallwith blond hair. In the distance isa large shimmering city pulsating

with rainbow hues of color. I donot know what is going to happennow, but I see no signs ofweapons on those approaching. Ihear now a voice ordering me byname to open the cargo door. Icomply.

END LOG

From this point I write all thefollowing events here frommemory. It defies the imaginationand would seem all but madnessif it had not happened.

The radioman and I are takenfrom the aircraft and we arereceived in a most cordial

manner. We were then boardedon a small platform-likeconveyance with no wheels! Itmoves us toward the glowing citywith great swiftness. As weapproach, the city seems to bemade of a crystal material. Soon

we arrive at a large building thatis a type I have never seenbefore. It appears to be right outof the design board of FrankLloyd Wright, or perhaps morecorrectly, out of a Buck Rogerssetting!! We are given some typeof warm beverage which tastedlike nothing I have ever savoredbefore. It is delicious. After aboutten minutes, two of our wondrousappearing hosts come to ourquarters and announce that I amto accompany them. I have nochoice but to comply. I leave myradioman behind and we walk a

short distance and enter intowhat seems to be an elevator.We descend downward for somemoments, the machine stops,and the door lifts silently upward!We then proceed down a longhallway that is lit by a rose-colored light that seems to beemanating from the very walls

themselves! One of the beingsmotions for us to stop before agreat door. Over the door is aninscription that I cannot read. Thegreat door slides noiselessly openand I am beckoned to enter. Oneof my hosts speaks. 'Have nofear, Admiral, you are to have anaudience with the Master...'

I step inside and my eyes adjustto the beautiful coloration thatseems to be filling the roomcompletely. Then I begin to seemy surroundings. What greetedmy eyes is the most beautifulsight of my entire existence. It is

in fact too beautiful andwondrous to describe. It isexquisite and delicate. I do notthink there exists a human termthat can describe it in any detailwith justice! My thoughts areinterrupted in a cordial mannerby a warm rich voice ofmelodious quality, 'I bid youwelcome to our domain,

Admiral.' I see a man withdelicate features and with theetching of years upon his face. Heis seated at a long table. Hemotions me to sit down in one of

the chairs. After I am seated, heplaces his fingertips together andsmiles. He speaks softly again,and conveys the following.

'We have let you enter herebecause you are of noblecharacter and well-known on theSurface World, Admiral.' Surface

World, I half-gasp under mybreath! 'Yes,' the Master replieswith a smile, 'you are in thedomain of the Arianni, the InnerWorld of the Earth.

We shall not long delay yourmission, and you will be safelyescorted back to the surface andfor a distance beyond.

But now, Admiral, I shall tell youwhy you have been summonedhere. Our interest rightly begins

just after your race exploded thefirst atomic bombs overHiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

It was at that alarming time wesent our flying machines, the'Flugelrads', to your surface worldto investigate what your race haddone. That is, of course, pasthistory now, my dear Admiral, butI must continue on.

You see, we have neverinterfered before in your race'swars, and barbarity, but now wemust, for you have learned totamper with a certain power thatis not for man, namely, that ofatomic energy.

Our emissaries have alreadydelivered messages to thepowers of your world, and yetthey do not heed. Now you havebeen chosen to be witness herethat our world does exist. Yousee, our culture and science ismany thousands of years beyond

your race, Admiral.' I interrupted,'But what does this have to dowith me, sir?'

The Master's eyes seemed topenetrate deeply into my mind,and after studying me for a fewmoments he replied, 'Your racehas now reached the point of noreturn, for there are those among

you who would destroy your veryworld rather than relinquish theirpower as they know it...'

I nodded, and the Mastercontinued, 'In 1945 andafterward, we tried to contact

your race, but our efforts weremet with hostility, our Flugelradswere fired upon. Yes, evenpursued with malice andanimosity by your fighter planes.

So, now, I say to you, my son,there is a great storm gatheringin your world, a black fury thatwill not spend itself for manyyears. There will be no answer inyour arms, there will be no safetyin your science. It may rage onuntil every flower of your cultureis trampled, and all human thingsare leveled in vast chaos.

Your recent war was only aprelude of what is yet to come foryour race. We here see it moreclearly with each hour..do yousay I am mistaken?'

'No,' I answer, 'it happened oncebefore, the Dark Ages came and

they lasted for more than fivehundred years.'

'Yes, my son,' replied the Master,'the dark ages that will come nowfor your race will cover the Earthlike a pall, but I believe that someof your race will live through thestorm, beyond that, I cannot say.We see at a great distance a new

world stirring from the ruins ofyour race, seeking its lost andlegendary treasures, and they willbe here, my son, safe in ourkeeping.

When that time arrives, we shallcome forward again to helprevive your culture and your race.Perhaps, by then, you will havelearned the futility of war and itsstrife...and after that time,certain of your culture andscience will be returned for yourrace to begin anew.

You, my son, are to return to theSurface World with thismessage.....'

With these closing words, ourmeeting seemed at an end. I

stood for a moment as in adream....but, yet, I knew this wasreality, and for some strangereason I bowed slightly, either outof respect or humility, I do notknow which.

Suddenly, I was again aware thatthe two beautiful hosts who had

brought me here were again atmy side.

'This way, Admiral,' motionedone. I turned once more beforeleaving and looked back towardthe Master. A gentle smile wasetched on his delicate andancient face. 'Farewell, my son,'he spoke, then he gestured with

a lovely, slender hand a motion ofpeace and our meeting was trulyended.

Quickly, we walked back throughthe great door of the Master'schamber and once again entered

into the elevator. The door slidsilently downward and we wereat once going upward. One of myhosts spoke again, 'We must nowmake haste, Admiral, as theMaster desires to delay you nolonger on your scheduledtimetable and you must returnwith his message to your race.'

I said nothing. All of this wasalmost beyond belief, and onceagain my thoughts wereinterrupted as we stopped. Ientered the room and was againwith my radioman. He had an

anxious expression on his face.As I approached, I said, 'It is allright, Howie, it is all right.' Thetwo beings motioned us towardthe awaiting conveyance, weboarded, and soon arrived backat the aircraft. The engines wereidling and we boardedimmediately.

The whole atmosphere seemedcharged now with a certain air ofurgency. After the cargo door wasclosed, the aircraft wasimmediately lifted by that unseenforce until we reached an altitudeof 2700 feet. Two of the aircraftwere alongside for some distanceguiding us on our return way. I

must state here, the airspeedindicator registered no reading,yet we were moving along at avery rapid rate.

215 Hours- A radio messagecomes through. 'We are leaving

you now, Admiral, your controlsare free. Auf Wiedersehen!!!!' Wewatched for a moment as theflugelrads disappeared into thepale blue sky.

The aircraft suddenly felt asthough caught in a sharpdowndraft for a moment. Wequickly recovered her control. Wedo not speak for some time, eachman has his thoughts.... ENTRY INFLIGHT LOG CONTINUES:

220 Hours- We are again overvast areas of ice and snow, and

approximately 27 minutes frombase camp. We radio them, theyrespond. We report all conditionsnormal....normal. Base campexpresses relief at our re-established contact. 300 Hours-We land smoothly at base camp. Ihave a mission.....

END LOG ENTRIES.

March 11, 1947. I have justattended a staff meeting at thePentagon. I have stated fully mydiscovery and the message fromthe Master. All is duly recorded.

The President has been advised. Iam now detained for severalhours (six hours, thirty-nine

minutes, to be exact.) I aminterviewed intently by TopSecurity Forces and a medicalteam.

It was an ordeal!!!! I am placedunder strict control via the

national security provisions ofthis United States of America. Iam ordered to remain silent inregard to all that I have learned,on the behalf of humanity!!!!Incredible! I am reminded that Iam a military man and I mustobey orders.

30/12/56: FINAL ENTRY:

These last few years elapsedsince 1947 have not been kind...Inow make my final entry in thissingular diary. In closing, I must

state that I have faithfully keptthis matter secret as directed allthese years. It has beencompletely against my values ofmoral right. Now, I seem to sensethe long night coming on and thissecret will not die with me, but asall truth shall, it will triumph andso it shall.

This can be the only hope formankind. I have seen the truthand it has quickened my spiritand has set me free! I have donemy duty toward the monstrousmilitary industrial complex. Now,the long night begins toapproach, but there shall be noend. Just as the long night of the

Arctic ends, the brilliant sunshineof truth shall come again....andthose who are of darkness shallfall in it's light..for I have seenthat land beyond the pole, thatcenter of the great unknown.

It was in the following year after the

above lines were supposedly written,that Admiral Richard E. Byrd died atthe age of sixty-nine or seventy. Thecause of his death is unknown to me atthis time. Prior to his death in 1957, Ihave also read that he participated in asimilar expedition to Antarctica,

where his team also penetrated deepinto the South Polar region.

The previous account concerningAdmiral Byrd's North Pole expeditionis not the only information which has

been used to support the Hollow EarthTheory. During this past century,

various other polar expenditions havealso been launched, the primary goalof which was to reach the truegeographical North Pole over land. Tounderstand this, allow me to explainthe following.

As some of you are aware, there areactually what we might refer to as twoNorth Poles. First, there is the truegeographical North Pole, which is

situated at ninety degrees northlatitude.

This is because, being a sphere, theentire Earth is divided into threehundred and sixty degrees, both forlatitude as well as for longitude. Thus,

half of the Earth's sphere would bedivided into one hundred and eightydegrees. From the Equator to thegeographical North Pole is ninetydegrees; and from the Equator to thegeographical South Pole is anotherninety degrees.

Aside from the true geographical

poles, there are also the magneticNorth Pole, and the magnetic SouthPole, which is where the Earth'smagnetic field is said to be the mostintense. According to one science bookI referred to, the magnetic North Poleis actually located about one thousandsix hundred and seventy kilometerssouth of the true geographical NorthPole, in the vicinity of the ninety

degree longitudinal line near BathurstIsland in northern Canada.

In fact, some have suggested thatthere are actually as many as threemagnetic North Poles which more orless 'float' around a particular area ofthe Arctic Circle. In other words, themagnetic poles are not stationary likethe geographical poles.

In the Southern Hemisphere, themagnetic South Pole is said to belocated some two thousand sixhundred and seventy kilometers northof the geographical South Pole, alongthe one hundred and forty degrees

longitudinal line, near the coast ofAntarctica. I am not sure if the sameclaims are made regarding the SouthPole having as many as three magneticpoles.

According to certain statements

supposedly extracted from thejournals of some of the other polarexplorers, there are similarobservations and experiences whichHollow Earth Theory adherents claimhave been purposely suppressed andkept from the knowledge of thegeneral public.

Just like Admiral Byrd's description inhis purported diary, these experiencesare related to unusual naturalphenomena which should not beoccurring at such a northerly latitude.Obviously, the further north onetravels away from the Equator and theshorter rays of the sun, the colder it

becomes. As a result of this, with eachpassing day, the Arctic Ocean becomes

more impassable due to the sub-zerotemperatures causing the surface

water to freeze into large fields of ice.Because of the unstable nature ofthese ice fields, one never knows whena particular field might suddenly

break up presenting a dangeroussituation for those exploring theseremote regions of the world.

Between these natural dangers, thedegree of human endurance, thelimitation on how much supplies ateam can carry with it, etc., polarexploration can indeed be quite achallenge, particularly decades ago

when our current technology did not

exist.

All of these other difficulties aside, aswas stated in Byrd's purported diary,the most serious challenge comes asone approaches closer and closer tothe magnetic North Pole. Quite

simply, due to the strong magneticfield present at these latitudes, one'sinstruments begins to fluctuate wildly,until one cannot even rely upon theiraccuracy in order to determine ormaintain his bearings. At this point,other methods of navigation must beused. This magnetic interference anddirectional confusion has been such,

that some polar explorers havebecome completely disoriented; andinstead of veering truly north, theyhave gone off in some other direction.

According to some of these journals, ifwe accept them as being authentic,despite these difficulties, some ofthese arctic explorers were able tocontinue northward to varying

degrees; however, to their greatsurprise, similar to the Byrd account,they began to encounter things whichseemed to defy logic. For example,

what had once been an ice-congestedand impassable sea, became an easilynavigable waterway above the seventy-five or eighty degree latitudinal line.In addition, instead of the sub-zerotemperatures continuing to drop, theydid the exact opposite to where theyactually became balmy.

Even more astounding is that theybegan to experience a warm windblowing down from the north. Finally,they began to notice fresh bits of twigs

and leaves in the water, large flocks ofbirds and migrations of butterflieswhere there should have been no suchthing, and other odd phenomena

which seemed to indicate that theywere travelling southward and notnorthward.

One clear example of a purportedpenetration into the Inner Earth

which was not planned, is found in abiographical book written by WillisGeorge Emerson entitled 'The SmokeyGod'. In this book, Emerson relatesthe tale of a father and son Norwegianfishing team whose small vessel is

driven by a fierce oceanic storm untilthey find themselves sailing over thelip of the northern polar opening;

what scientists refer to as the PolarBasin.

The son, Olaf Jansen, claimed that thisoccurred in April of 1829. For the nexttwo years, Olaf Jansen claimed that heand his father lived with the kind,

courteous inhabitants of the InnerEarth, who measured some twelve feetin height. After this time, Jansenclaimed that they exited the InnerEarth via the South Pole opening. The

book derives its name from the factthat Olaf described the mini-sun as

being smokey in appearance.

In accordance with the story ofNorwegian Olaf Jansen, the adherentsof the Hollow Earth Theory agree thatan entrance to the Inner Earth existsat the South Pole as well. Similar tothe Byrd account which describes theinhabitants of the Inner Earthspeaking English with a Germanic

accent, some New Agers claim thatthese underworlders are actually thedescendants of the Nazis, who withtheir technology, escaped to the InnerEarth via the South Pole followingtheir defeat at the close of World WarII. It is said that part of this

technology included the firstprototype flying disks, and thatcurrent UFO sightings are modern

versions of the same which followflight corridors across South Americaleading from the South Pole. It is

because of tales like these that somepeople are convinced that there is agreater reason for the presence of

foreign governments on Antarcticathan what has actually been statedpublicly.

To add credence to these thoughts,Hollow Earth theorists point to a fewdisturbing facts. For example, whenBritish camera crews for the BBCarranged for a visit to Antarctica, they

were confronted with several

unanticipated problems. While theiroriginal itinerary, which was planned

well in advance, included a directflight from South Africa to Antarctica,

which would have included anoverflight of the so-called 'Area OfInaccessibility', their plans weresomehow bungled; and they wereforced to travel first to South America.Upon arriving there, they discoveredthat the only commercial flightavailable to the subcontinent wasoperated by an American company,

which ferried some twenty to thirtypeople at a time to the American baseof McMurdo Station. These flights

were only available during the

summer months. Not only that, butwhen they finally did arrive at theirdestination, the Britons were treated

with a degree of hostility by theAmericans.

Another point worthy of note, is that it

was discovered that due to the lack ofany satellites flying over Antarctica, all

weather reports originated on theground from McMurdo Station itself.

Hollow Earth theorists conclude thatthis is a direct step taken by the

Americans to prevent the release ofany satellite images of the South Pole

which might show the polar opening.

Another recent development whichhas also been viewed as a part of theoverall conspiracy to hide the truthfrom the world, is that in recent years,an agreement was signed by variousnations which would prohibit oil andmineral exploration on Antarctica forthe next fifty years.

The last piece of purported evidenceused by Hollow Earth theorists, is theclaim that the 'Ozone Hole' over

Antarctica is directly above the so-called South Polar opening. As you

will see shortly, this may have deeperimplications, that what at first may beapparent to the untrained individual.

Hollow Earth theorists point to otherunusual signs as well in order to provethat something strange exists at boththe extremes of Planet Earth. One ofthese signs is that of mammoth tusks

which have been continually found on

some of the islands situated within theArctic Circle north of Russia.

If this story is true, what is odd aboutthis is the fact that it is claimed thatfor at least the past several hundred

years, traders have gathered and sold

these tusks; yet more continue toaccumulate there.

These mammoth tusks are directlyrelated to another strangephenomenon; and that is that for anumber of years now, the carcasses of

wooly mammoths have been foundfrozen in ice in Siberia and other

regions of the Arctic Circle.

I remember reading years ago thatsome of these even had fresh grass intheir mouths. While I believe thatthese well-preserved carcases are theresult of a sudden worldwidecatastrophe of thousands of years agoreferred to as Noah's Flood, whichquickly froze many species of animals

which existed at the time, HollowEarth theorists claim that thesecarcasses point to the fact that woolymammoths still thrive within theInner Earth.

It has been a long-held belief withincertain Asian cultures and now withinNew Age thought as well, that ratherthan being comprised of a solid area ofdense bedrock known as the mantle,the interior of the Earth is more akinto Swiss Cheese, in that it ispermeated with a vast interconnectingsystem of underground caves andsubterranean tunnels.

In certain places, this global system issaid to lead down to the Inner Earth.From the research I did, these sites arequite often said to be situated in ornear deep mining operations and

volcanic peaks located in variouscountries throughout the world, as

well as in the Himalayan mountainrange and the Gobi Desert. Fourteenthousand foot Mount Shasta, anextinct volcano located in northernCalifornia, U.S.A., is also claimed to beone such site. The true believers areconvinced that this snow-cappedmountain is actually the home of alarge multi-tiered subterranean city

known as Telos.

There are often groups of New Ageshamans and their followers campingout on the slopes of this mountain,hoping that they will be 'blessed'either with a unique spiritualencounter, or with a UFO sighting, orperhaps even with locating one ofthese fabled entrances to the famed

five-level subterranean city.

Another story related to this concernsthe San Andreas Fault located in thestate of California, U.S.A.

While geologists point to the TectonicPlate Theory and claim that this faultline is a result of the Pacific platepushing against the continental plate,some Hollow Earth theorists interpretthe matter quite differently. Accordingto them, and I must admit that I haveheard this same thing for the pastseveral decades, since the 1950's, the

American Government has sentnuclear-powered submarines to

explore the underwater topography ofthe western coast of the United Statesof America.

It is claimed that while mapping thisarea, they were surprised to discoverthat the continental shelf is pocketed

with many huge caverns andpassageways; some of which are largeenough to easily allow a submarine tonavigate through them.

The horror came when after years ofcarefully and meticulously mappingthis submarine world, they realizedthat some of these caverns and tunnels

extended as far back as the states ofUtah and Nevada! In fact, one storyclaims that a certain Americansubmarine, which was supposedly lostat open sea, was actually lost whileexploring one of these hidden caverns.

However, the most shockingthing they are said to havediscovered, is the fact that the

state of California is basicallyhanging over the ocean; that is, itis for the most part floating ontop of the ocean, being supportedby a series of submarinelimestone pillars.

While most people believe that themany earthquakes which have beenexperienced in California are due toshifts in these various tectonic plates,some Hollow Earth theorists proposethat they are actually caused by thecollapse of some of these largersubmarine caverns. In fact, theysuggest that this is the real nature ofthe San Andreas Fault; that is, it is

either a submarine tunnel, or a seriesof large caverns, which have simplycollapsed, creating the depression

which is seen above ground.

If the above is indeed true, then theend result is quite obvious; even to

one who doesn't have a degree ingeology.

If and when enough of those cavernsand pillars collapse, most of California

will break off and simply fall into theocean.

As tragic and as widespread as the loss

of life would be, if this were to trulyhappen, I would personally view it as asevere judgment of the Lord due to thegreat degree of evil and deception

which originates in, and which is alsopropagated from that state.

Everyone knows that California is thehaven for New Age thought, pay-per-minute psychics, homosexual and

lesbian rights groups, and a plethoraof other negative influences whichhave plagued America for literallydecades, such as the violent and anti-christ television and film industry.

Not only that, but it is the center forthe very technology which maysomeday soon be used to enslavemankind; that is, the computerindustry. While we computer-literateChristians view our machines as a

blessing and a valuable tool forspreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

we are also fully aware that there is adark side to this age of electronic

wonders as well.

This is not the only information whichis used to support the Hollow EarthTheory. One piece of evidence to

which the believers point as proof ofthe existence of a Hollow Earth, hasabsolutely nothing to do with theEarth itself. This concerns certainphotographs which have been taken ofsome of the other bodies in ourplanetary system.

Due in part to certain deep craters and

dark spots found at the polar regionsand other surface areas of some ofthese celestial bodies, the proponentsof the Hollow Earth Theory have cometo the conclusion that they must also

be hollow spheres, and that thesecraters or dark spots are likewiseopenings to these inner worlds.

Furthermore, it has been suggested

that some of these spheres mightpossibly be artificial in nature. At thispoint, the tales take some veryunusual turns in the direction of soon-coming hostile alien invasions of theEarth and other such stories.

However on the serious side, if theinformation is to be believed, theplanet Mars may offer someconvincing evidence of the HollowEarth Theory due some strangeoccurrences which are said to have

been observed at its poles.

Due to various factors, such as itsdistance from the Sun, the Martian

year is almost twice as long as anEarth year, being six hundred andeighty-seven days.

During half of this period, one Martianice cap will expand in size while theother will do the exact opposite. This

expansion can be anywhere from tento twenty times its smallest size, whichhas been estimated at around fourhundred miles in diameter.

It is also noteworthy that the Martianpolar ice caps always maintain adefinite circular shape.

At any rate, during the final half of theyear, the expanded ice cap will rapidlyshrink, while the opposite one willgrow in size.

Where the excitement comes forHollow Earth theorists is in the factthat on some occasions, the ice capshave shrunk to slightly less than theirnormal minimum diameter. It is

claimed that it is at these times thatastronomers have observed a blackarea, or perimeter, surrounding the icecaps.

While astronomers have tried todismiss this fact, some Hollow Earththeorists are convinced that this isnothing less that the outer edge of thepolar opening leading into the inner

world of Mars.

According to one theorist, thetemperature and climate inside otherhollow planets such as Mars may be

very similar to that found inside theHollow Earth; in other words, it is

quite tropical in nature. If this is true,then it would result in the naturalformation of a huge cloud mass at thepolar entrances where the warm moistair from the interior of the planet risesto collide with the cold polar air on theoutside of the planet.

This temperature variation would beeven greater during the Martian

winter season, and thus would readilyexplain the sudden expansion andreduction of the cloud masses duringeach half of the Martian year.

What has also elated Hollow Earth

theorists, and added more weight totheir theory, was the announcementthat 'ice cliffs' composed of actual

water, and not of carbon dioxide, havebeen discovered at the Martian polarregions.

But this is not the only mystery whichhas been revealed on the planet Mars.In their on-going attempt to reinforce

their argument with even morescientific validity, it has been pointedout by some of the more serious-minded Hollow Earth theorists, thaton certain occasions, scientists andastronomers have detected odd

brilliant flashes of light originating atthe poles of some of these celestialorbs, such as on the Moon and Mars.

What do these sporadic flashes have todo with the Hollow Earth Theory?

This brings us back down to Earth,and to a natural phenomenon knownin the Northern Hemisphere as the

Aurora Borealis, and in the Southern

Hemisphere as the Aurora Australis;that is, the Northern and the SouthernLights. Scientists claim that thesespectacular nocturnal light shows arethe result of electrically chargedparticles from the sun striking themagnetic field which surrounds the

Earth.

The Lights are said to be mostprominent during periods of highsolar activity, that is, when sunspotsare at their peak.

However, Hollow Earth theoristspropose a completely different

explanation for these awe-inspiringnocturnal light shows.

They claim that every so often, themini-sun within the core of the Earth

will be perfectly aligned with one ofthe polar openings. These openingsare said to be some one thousand andfour hundred miles in diameter.

When these alignments occur, some of

the light from the mini-sun flashesoutward into the atmosphere, thuscreating the beautiful Northern andSouthern Lights. As proof of this, theypoint to the flashes of light observed

by astronomers on the Moon, Mars,and possibly elsewhere.

As you can see, I have gone to greatlengths to give you a basic idea of whatthe Hollow Earth Theory is all about.

Of course, this article does not by anymeans include every single aspect ofthe theory, as there are simply toomany ramifications which have beenmade from this central theme. While I

have expressed doubt in the theory, Ihave also tried to be fair by presentingas much evidence as I can to explain

why some people are convinced thatthe Hollow Earth is not fiction, butactual fact. So exactly what is mypersonal opinion regarding this

unusual theory? This question will bethoroughly answered for you in parttwo of this article. I can assure youthat you will be surprised, andperhaps even shocked, by some of thethings which I believe the Lord hasshown me. Of Churches And Ecumenism,Persecution Of Faithful

When I first became acquainted withthe Hollow Earth Theory, myunderstanding wasn't quite what it istoday. Because of this, the first

objection which entered my mind atthe time was how the Genesis Floodcould be reconciled with the HollowEarth Theory. My argument was thatin light of the Flood, which filled upthe entire Earth past the tops of themountains, I couldn't see how thepolar openings proposed by thistheory could have been possible. In

the Book of Genesis we read thefollowing:

"And the waters prevailedexceedingly upon the earth; and allthe high hills, that were under thewhole heaven, were covered. Fifteencubits upward did the waters prevail;and the mountains were covered."(Genesis 7:19-20)

As I point out in some of my scienceand technology articles, myunderstanding is that these versesmean that the highest mountains atthe time were covered by fifteen cubitsof water. If we take the standardmeasurement of eighteen inches percubit, this means that the highestmountain peaks were covered by sometwenty-two and a half feet of water. Noone can tread in water this deep for

very long, so it would have beensufficient to do the job; which was tototally destroy the wicked of that time.

Being as I didn't fully understand thetheory back then, I argued that twopolar openings some one thousandfour hundred miles in diameter wouldhave made it impossible for a

worldwide Flood to have occurred asthe water would have drained into the

Inner Earth.

The only way that I could logicallymake the Biblical account and theHollow Earth Theory agree with eachother, was by considering thepossibility that the Lord had sealedover these two massive openings byslowly freezing the water around the

perimeter of each entrance until theywere completely closed up.

Even if this were possible, I stillwondered if a thick crust of ice wouldbe able to endure the awesome weightand pressure created by the Flood

waters. To further weaken my owntheory, I also realized that even if suchice caps were to have formed over

such a large area; and even if theywere thick enough to support theweight of the water above them, Icouldn't see how they could endure for

very long due to the heat eliminatingfrom the mini-sun. Surely they wouldhave melted and either floated to thesurface like ice bergs, or else falleninto the polar openings themselves.This massive volume of ice and frigidpolar water would surely have resultedin extinguishing the mini-sun; at leastso I assumed.

Thus, I concluded that there wassimply no way that this theory could

be true.

Well, I was content with thisunderstanding for about a year while I

worked on writing other articles. Inthe meantime, I began to receivereader reactions to my Hollow Eartharticle.

It was pointed out to me by severalpeople that my understanding of thetheory was a bit flawed. What I hadfailed to realize is that, because thecenter of gravity is in the middle of themantle, and not in the actual center ofthe Earth, at least according to thetheory, when the Flood occurred, the

waters would have simply flowedacross the curved lip of each of thepolar openings, which I believe is saidto be hundreds of miles in width, andfilled the land surface of the InnerEarth as well; just as they did with theoutside world. In other words, the

water would not fall inwards into theatmosphere of the Inner Earth andextinguish the mini-sun; it would

simply follow the force of gravity alongthe ground; that is, along the innersurface of the mantle.

It is claimed that it is because of thevery huge size of these openings, thewidth of the lip, and the gradualcurvature of the lip, that when

Admiral Byrd flew into the opening,and when other explorers sailed intoor dog-sled into the opening, they didnot even realize it. The further theytravelled, the higher the atmosphere

would become above them; so that itwould have been totally impossible forthem to have seen the distant side ofthe opening, and realize that they were

actually going into the Earth. It tookme a bit of mental work to understand

what these people were proposing, butI finally came to understand that itdoes make a lot of sense, IF the theory

were in fact true.

With this realization, although I amstill not convinced of the veracity ofthis theory, primarily due to otherthings which the Lord has shown mein His Word, I decided to approachthe issue as someone trying to provethis theory from the Bible. In such acase, what kind of verses could theypossibly use? Using my computer

Bible program, I discovered thefollowing interesting verses:

"Thou shalt not make unto thee anygraven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or thatis in the earth beneath, or that is inthe water under the earth:" (Exodus20:4)

"That at the name of Jesus every kneeshould bow, of things in heaven, andthings in earth, and things under theearth;"(Philippians 2:10)

"And no man in heaven, nor in earth,neither under the earth, was able toopen the book, neither to lookthereon." (Revelation 5:3)

"And every creature which is inheaven, and on the earth, and underthe earth, and such as are in the sea,and all that are in them, heard Isaying, Blessing, and honour, andglory, and power, be unto him thatsitteth upon the throne, and unto the

Lamb for ever and ever." (Revelation5:13)

To the casual reader of the Bible whodoesn't have the advantage of usingHebrew and Greek lexicons in order tounderstand the original meanings of

some of these words, which is the casewith most people, the above versescould very easily be used to erroneousstate that the Bible teaches that thereis water, men, and other creatures inthe Inner Earth. In other words, thephrase 'under the Earth' could bemisconstrued, either due to humanerror, or even intentionally by those

who wish to falsely use the Bible tosupport the theory, to mean the InnerEarth; which is not what they mean

whatsoever. To prove that this is so,consider the following:

In the first verse from the Book ofExodus, the phrase 'or that is in theearth beneath, or that is in the waterunder the earth' is actually derived

from 'erets mayim erets'. Thatbasically means 'earth water earth'.The actual word 'under' is not evenincluded in the Hebrew text. This issimply how the translator chose totranslate it. In the second verse fromPaul's Epistle to the Philippians, thephrase 'things under the earth' isderived from one Greek word; that is,'katachthonios', which is pronouncedkat-akh-thon'-ee-os. This word meansthe subterranean world.

In comparing this verse with otherverses, we know that this is notreferring to the Inner Earth, but ratherto the place of the physical dead, and

quite possibly to the spiritualunderworld. In the final two versesfrom the Book of Revelation, thephrase 'under the earth' is derivedfrom two Greek words; 'hupokato',meaning under or underneath, and'ge', meaning the land or ground.

In other words, it is again referring tothings underground and not someInner Earth. Aside from the above

verses which could be twisted bysomeone who really wanted to do so, Iam not currently aware of any others

which could in any way indicate thatthere is a vast unseen world beneath

our feet populated by a technologicallyadvanced human society, or by anyother type of physical creature or

being.

This leads us to another possibleproblem concerning the Hollow EarthTheory. Given the purported size ofthese polar openings, and the overallsize of a hollowed out Earth, it seems

to me that if the Inner Earth werelighted and heated by some mini-sunas Hollow Earth theorists assert, there

would be some degree of problem withtemperature control. To understandthis, consider a situation where youare locked up inside a room with twosmall windows, one at each end of theroom. Imagine now that the size of theroom and the two windows is a scalemodel of the total area of the so-calledInner Earth and the two polar orifices.

Finally, imagine that an infrared heatlamp is placed in the room, the size of

which, and the heat output of which,would also be in direct proportion to

the size of the so-called mini-suninside the Hollow Earth.

The question then is, how long wouldit take for that room to overheat due tothe tiny windows which are the onlymeans of escape for excessive heat?

Would the room maintain a balmytropical temperature as Hollow Earththeorists claim, or would it overheat?

On the subject of heat, it is anestablished fact that in some of thedeep mines which have beenexcavated for the purpose ofextracting, coal, various ores,

diamonds, etc., the deeper one goes,the hotter it becomes.

Without the aid of high-poweredventilation systems, it would be totallyimpossible for miners to even workunder such conditions, not to mentionother dangers such as cave-ins, toxicgases, etc. Man's deepest mines onlypenetrate the Earth to a depth of

several miles.

If it is that hot at a depth which onlyamounts to barely scratching theEarth's crust, simple deduction wouldseem to indicate, that if man werecapable of going to even greaterdepths, the temperature wouldcontinue to climb.

This leads us to only two possiblealternatives to the Hollow EarthTheory.

The first is that, as scientists haveexplained, the Earth indeed consists ofa semi-molten and molten outer and

inner core of nickel and iron, or elsethere is something else down there.Exactly what might this be? This will

be discussed a bit later in this article.

To show some additional flaws in theHollow Earth Theory, let's go back for

a moment to the dialogue purportedlyheld between Admiral Richard E. Byrdand the mystical 'Master' of the

Arianni found within the HollowEarth.

As I read this account, somethingvaguely familiar flashed in the back ofmy mind. When it came to the surface,

I suddenly realized the depth of thedeceit with which we may be dealing.Quite frankly, I highly suspect that

what we find in Byrd's purported diarymay be nothing more than a subtle actof plagiarism. Allow me to explain.

Twenty-five years ago in 1973, I hadthe opportunity to see a musicalentitled 'Lost Horizon'. Produced by

Ross Hunter with music and song byBurt Bacharach and Hal David, thisfilm starred such noted actors andactresses as Charles Boyer, PeterFinch, John Gielgud, Olivia Hussey,Sally Kellerman, George Kennedy,James Shigeta, Liv Ullmann andMichael York. Filmed in WashingtonState, U.S.A., this movie was actually aremake of an original film made in1937 by Frank Capra, and whichstarred Ronald Colman.

This movie was based upon a bookwritten several years before by famedBritish novelist James Hilton. As is sooften the case when literary works are

adapted to the 'silver screen', themovie did not adhere in every regardto Hilton's novel. Extra characters

were added, the country setting waschanged, the movie was a musicaldrama, and I believe that a slightlydifferent ending was added in order to

make the movie more inspiring.

I have also discovered that a sequelwas made which, according to thereviews I read, was a dismal failurecompared to the original movie and itsremake.

Allow me to share with you a synopsis

of the 1973 movie.

While in the course of escaping civilunrest in China, (as opposed toBaskul, India in Hilton's novel), amixed group of British and Americantravelers find themselves beinghijacked by an unknown pilot.

Amongst the passengers is anidealistic British diplomat by the name

of Richard Conway, who is portrayedby Peter Finch.

In Hilton's novel, Conway's first nameis actually Hugh. AccompanyingConway is his brother George, a selfish

worldly man played by Michael York,as well as an American engineer, apretty dancer, a singer, and acomedian. As they head for anundetermined destination, (instead ofto their original destination ofPeshawar, India according to thenovel), mechanical problems occur;and the plane crashes somewhere onthe Tibetan plateau amidst the

Himalayan peaks, killing the pilot inthe process.

In Hilton's novel, we are told that it isthe Kuen-Lun Mountains. To theirsurprise, rather than facing whatappears to be certain death, the group

find themselves not only rescued, buttaken to the mysterious Valley of theBlue Moon. The center of life there is arose-colored Buddhist monastery, orlamasery, known as Shangri-La; aname which has become worldrenown since it was first introduced byHilton over sixty years ago.

It has been suggested by NationalGeographic magazine, that JamesHilton may have derived theinspiration for the name 'Shangri-La'from the Tibetan word 'la', whichmeans 'pass', as in a mountain pass. Infact, there is a certain high mountainpass named Changri La which islocated near Mount Everest in Nepal.It is said that this area was often

visited by famous Britishmountaineer, George Mallory, duringhis various attempts to scale MountEverest in the 1920's. Another sourceclaims that Shangri-La may have beeninspired by the remote mountainkingdom of Hunz located near twenty-five thousand foot Mount Rakaposhiin Pakistan. This beautiful land ispopulated by a fair-skinned and light-eyed people known as the Hunzakuts,

who claim to be the actualdescendants of a group of soldiers who

became lost from Alexander theGreat's army during his invasion ofIndia. To add to this mystery, it isclaimed that the language of these

people, known as Burushaski, istotally unrelated to any other languageknown to man.

To continue the movie plot; nestledamongst the highest mountain peaksin the world, where one would expect

sub-zero temperatures and endlesssnow storms, the Valley of the BlueMoon seems to totally contradicthuman logic with its warm climate,and verdant natural beauty.

This warmth is also reflected in aspiritual sense as well by theinhabitants of the lamasery who are an

extremely kind, respectful, humble,happy people who are eager to sharetheir simple life with the new arrivals.

It is revealed in one scene that asidefrom the miraculous timelessconditions which exist in the Valley,one of the primary rules for living along and happy life in Shangri-La, is todo all things in moderation.

The local philosophy appears to be amixture of Christianity, firstintroduced by the High Lama, FatherPerrault, who arrived in the eighteenthcentury as a French priest of theFranciscan order, and the Buddhism

which existed before his arrival. Thus,for tired British consul RichardConway, Shangri-La is a haven ofpeace and tranquility compared to the

worldly turmoil he is used to.

Once the guests are made comfortable,they are informed that it will be atleast several weeks before a Sherpacaravan will arrive, which will be able

to assist them in their return to themodern world.

It is only later, after Richard Conwayhas been fully exposed to the idylliclifestyle of Shangri-La, that it isrevealed to him in a private audience

with the High Lama, that the hijackingwas no accident.

In fact, Father Perrault, who is nowover two hundred years old, informsConway that he has purposely been

brought to Shangri-La for the explicitreason of succeeding him as the newHigh Lama. Of course, the story can't

end there, so trouble arises whenRichard's worldly brother, George,begins to view Shangri-La not as apeaceful escape from the cares of the

world, but rather as a prison fromwhich he must escape, even if it meansspoiling the serenity of the monastery

by causing division amongst itsresidents.

To make matters worse, he convincesMaria, a beautiful resident of themonastery, to accompany him to theoutside world. Maria is played bylovely Olivia Hussey, who also starredin such classics as 'Romeo and Juliet',and Franco Zeffirelli's 'Jesus OfNazareth'.

Thus, as the time draws near for theSherpa caravan to arrive, a greatstruggle rages in Conrad's heart as onone hand he is pressured by his selfish

brother to leave their Earthly paradise,and on the other he feels obligated tofulfill his mission of succeeding FatherPerrault as the next High Lama.

In the end, Conrad succumbs to hisbrother's demands, and chooses toleave Shangri-La. However, before hedoes, I believe it is wise Mr. Chang,played by John Gielgud, who candidlyinforms Conrad that he knows that he

will eventually return.

Thus, leaving the warm sunny valleybehind, the group once again entersthe cold and dangerous world of thehigh Himalayas.

Unbeknownst to George Conrad, asthey travel further and further away

from the Valley of the Blue Moon, hislovely companion, Maria, begins toquickly age. It is when he finallyrealizes that he is now carrying thecorpse of an old dead woman, that hegoes completely berserk, and ends uprunning over the edge of a steep cliff.It is this commotion which results in atremendous avalanche which buriesthe party.

In the final scenes from the movie, wefind Richard Conway in a hospital bedapparently suffering from shock andexposure.

During his period of unconsciousness,he has been mumbling about the

wonderful world of Shangri-La in theValley of the Blue Moon.

At this point, the novel ends; leavingthe reader wondering if the story trulyever did happen, or if it was nothing

but a figment of Conway's imaginationdue to the ordeal he had been throughon the frigid slopes of the Himalayas.

In the movie, however, we are left withone final 'high' as the hospitalattendants suddenly find Conway's

bed abandoned. In the closing scene,Conway has made the right choice,and we see him trekking through thedeep snow on the Himalayan peaks

until off in the distance he spots themarker which will lead him back to theparadisiacal world of Shangri-La.

As you will now see, the similaritiesbetween Admiral Byrd's entrance intothe Inner Earth, and RichardConway's arrival at Shangri-La, arequite obvious.

The primary difference between thetwo is the fact that in 'Lost Horizon',the protagonist ascends to the summitof the Himalayan peaks in order tofind his paradise, while in thepurported Byrd diary, the pilotdescends into the depths of the Earth.In both cases, the main character is aman named Richard.

In both instances, they are employedby their government. The vehicle usedto transport both men to theirrendezvous with destiny is anairplane. In Byrd's case, theinstruments on the plane malfunctionas the aviator passes through thestrong magnetic fields of the ArcticCircle.

In Conway's case, the plane crasheskilling the pilot. While Byrd is met andescorted by flying disks, giving a moredeceptive New Age flavor to theaccount, Conway is met and guided bya Sherpa caravan. Both men face the

same psychological shock when aftertravelling through miles and miles ofice and snow, they suddenly findthemselves in a mild climate and

verdant surroundings which totallydefy human logic.

The similarities do not end there.

In the case of Admiral Byrd, in orderto enter the peaceful resplendant

world of the Inner Earth, he had tounknowingly fly over the rim of thepolar opening, and slowly enter theHollow Earth. This was not evenrealized by him until he noticed an

unknown mountain chain, and thegradual change of climate.

While Richard Conrad did not passthrough any magnetic fields, he didpass through an unseen time field. Notonly that, but just as Bryd had to flythrough the 'neck' of the polar openingin order to leave the frigid world of iceand snow behind, Conway and his

team had to pass through a long caveor tunnel to do the same.

In the movie, as Conrad comes out ofthe tunnel on the side of Shangri-La,in the background we can see the

blizzard on the far end of the oppositeside of the tunnel.

If you are not yet fully convinced ofthe possible act of plagiarism here,consider also that in both Bryd's

journal and the movie, the twoRichards are met by people with verycordial personalities who both speakperfect English.

In the case of Richard Byrd, he has aprivate audience with the mysterioussage known as the 'Master'; whileRichard Conrad has a privateencounter with the High Lama. Bothof these leaders are described as beingancient in their physical appearance as

well as graceful in manner; and bothdeliver extremely similar messages totheir guests.

Each man is also told that he has beenchosen for a special purpose, becausehe has been determined to be of veryhigh moral fiber.

While both messages foretell doomand chaos for the outside world, theyalso offer hope by stating that onceevil man has nearly destroyed himselfthrough war and other foolish acts of

violence, the meek shall inherit theEarth in a Golden Age of renewal.

In Richard Byrd's case, they will beassisted by the residents of the Inner

Earth; and in the case of RichardConway, assistance will come throughthe residents of Shangri-La.

There are a few other points worthy ofnote which not only indicate thedeceptive nature of the Byrd account,

but of the Hollow Earth Theory as awhole. While they may appearinsignificant at first, these pointsdefinitely appeal to the mind of theNew Age advocate and other currentmindsets.

For example, within the United Statesof America today, there are a numberof growing movements which follow a

philosophy of white separatism andsupremacy.

As I point out in 'Civil DisobedienceAnd Christian Persecution', thesemovements include such groups as

White Pride, the Phinehas Priesthood,

Aryan Nation, the Ku Klux Klan, and avariety of other clandestineparamilitary organizations. Groupssuch as these are actually an offshootof the mentality of pre-War NaziGermany; and for this reason, they aresometimes referred to as Neo-Nazis,meaning New Nazis. This ideology of

white Caucasian supremacism was

referred to by the Germans asAryanism.

Is it merely a coincidence that theexclusive race of the Inner Earth iscalled the Arianni, or Aryanni? Whilesome New Agers prefer to view the

Arianni as an alien race from space,the truth seems obvious to me. As Ipoint out in some of my other

alien/UFO and New Age articles, NewAge thought is nothing more than amodernized conglomeration ofdemonic psychobabble.

It is a deceptive blend of Christiandoctrine, Native American mysticism,ancient spiritualism or necromancy,

Wiccan nature worship, Asianshamanism, and Babylonic demonism.This lethal mixture is insidiouslystirred together with other ingredientssuch as UFOlogy, environmentalism,political correctness, and one

worldism; and then carefully coatedwith a deceptive powder called'spiritual enlightenment and truth', in

order to cover the bitter taste of thepoisonous pill which many peoplehave foolishly and ignorantlyswallowed.

It is interesting to note that a varietyof names have been associated with

the Inner Earth. Two of the mostpopular are Agharta, or Agharti, andShamballah.

Exactly what do Agharta andShamballah truly represent?

According to Hinduism and otherAsian belief systems, Shamballah isthe capital of Agharta, which is

nothing less than the underworld.

From what I have read, it is claimedthat the current Dalai Lama, thespiritual leader of Tibet, and aBuddhist, has openly confessed thatShamballah is not just referring tosome spiritual domain or mental stateof being which can be achievedthrough some form of meditation; but

rather it is an actual physical locationfound within the bowels of the Earth.

It is from here that the 'King of theWorld' is said to rule. The fact thatthese names are associated with bothHinduism and Buddhism should beenough to set off an alarm with anysincere Christian. The only king, orgod, of this world with which I amfamiliar, is one mentioned by the

Apostle Paul in his Epistle to theCorinthians:

"In whom the god of this world hathblinded the minds of them whichbelieve not, lest the light of the

glorious gospel of Christ, who is theimage of God, should shine untothem." (2 Corinthians 4:4)

As can be seen, this god is by nomeans interested in giving spiritualenlightenment to his ignorant

followers, but only in casting a darkcloud of spiritual deception upon his

victims.

As I have explained in other articles,such as 'To Pray Or Not To Pray?',

yoga and Eastern meditation areextremely dangerous practices whichmay result in the practitioner actually

becoming possessed by a spirit otherthan the Life Force given to him by hisCreator.Despite this fact, these pratices forman integral part of New Age thought.Those who call themselves'Lightworkers', and who teach thatsuch practices will benefit one's being,are in fact workers of darkness whichthe Bible thoroughly condemns:

"Woe unto them that call evil good,and good evil; that put darkness forlight, and light for darkness; that putbitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"(Isaiah 5:20)

"For such are false apostles, deceitfulworkers, transforming themselvesinto the apostles of Christ. And nomarvel; for Satan himself istransformed into an angel of light.Therefore it is no great thing if hisministers also be transformed as theministers of righteousness; whoseend shall be according to theirworks." (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Returning to the topic of Agharta,certain New Age advocates believethat collectively speaking, Shamballah,Telos, and quite a few othersubterranean cities such as Posid;located beneath the Matto Grosso

plains region of Brazil, Shonshe;hidden high in the Himalayas, Rama;located near Jaipur, India, andShingwa; situated on the border ofMongolia and China, are allinterconnected by subterraneantunnels to form what they refer to asthe Agharta Network.

The primary entrance to this innerworld is said to be in the Gobi Desertlocated in the Mongolian People'sRepublic. According to Olaf Jansen,

Agharta is supposedly comprised ofthree quarters land, and one quarter

water. In 'The Smokey God', Emersonstates that Jansen told him that he

was informed that the place he and hisfather visited was called Shamaballah

the Lesser.

While this concept of the HollowEarth Theory is given a deceptive New

Age appearance, it is nothing butcleverly disguised Hinduism andBuddhism through and through.

While doing the research for thisarticle, I discovered that one beliefheld by some of these orientalreligions, is that life on the surface of aplanet is viewed as an aberration fromthe norm.

In other words, these people believethat within every solar system, onlyone planet is 'permitted' to have life on

its surface, while all of the others areteeming with life within, illuminated

by their inner sun.

It is because of this deceptive doctrine,that many New Agers believe that theother planets within our Solar System

are full of life.

Said in another way, as long as aplanet has an inner sun, it doesn'tmatter if it is located in the depths ofcold dark space; it will still possess athriving community within. Thus,human life on Earth is reduced from

being a Divine Miracle in which God is

glorified, to being an everydayoccurrence. In fact, it discredits Godeven more than this.

In the case of our Solar System, Earthis the one planet which has been'chosen' to serve as a type of'schoolroom' to teach other beings the

vanity of war and other acts ofviolence.

In other words, the outer surfaces ofplanets are reserved for those who arenot yet spiritually enlightened. Thus,in accordance with this deceptivephilosophy, the inhabitants of Agharta

view us surface dwellers as completebarbarians.

This belief further states that it is onlywhen the surface dwellers are at thepoint of self-destruction, that theinhabitants of the inner world willcome out, led by their 'King of the

World', in order to offer us theirassistance; and to help us to pick upthe pieces.

This is precisely the philosophy thatwe see in Byrd's diary; and it is thevery same philosophy that we see in'Lost Horizon' as well. If these ideas ofa king ascending from the inner worlddon't bother you, allow me to inform

you that, as a Christian, there is onlyone king that I am aware of who isdestined to ascend out of the depths ofthe Earth; and he certainly is not a

benign one:

"And they had a king over them,which is the angel of the bottomless

pit, whose name in the Hebrew

tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greektongue hath his name Apollyon."(Revelation 9:11)

"The beast that thou sawest was, andis not; and shall ascend out of thebottomless pit, and go into perdition:and they that dwell on the earth shallwonder, whose names were notwritten in the book of life from the

foundation of the world, when theybehold the beast that was, and is not,and yet is." (Revelation 17:8)

Contrary to what is erroneously taughtby New Age thought gurus and easternmonks, this 'King of the World' is NOTour friend! Neither will he come inorder to restore peace to the world! Infact, as I explain in my series 'TheSeven Heads', based on the Englishtranslation of these two words, he will

be The Destroyer of the world;because 'Abaddon' and 'Apollyon'mean 'destruction' and 'destroyer'!

obtaining a Scriptural answerconcerning what truly lies within theEarth. The result of my research is a

very in-depth article entitled 'Hell AndThe Lake Of Fire'.

As I have just pointed out, while I

indeed believe that the inside of theEarth is populated, it is not with a

benign race of technologicallyadvanced humans who use flying disksas their means of transportation; butrather with beings of an entirelydifferent nature.

There is no benign 'Master' as is

claimed by the purported extractsfrom the diary of Admiral Richard E.Byrd. Rather than believe in these vainimaginations of so-called New Agescience, I encourage you to read thisarticle so that you can obtain a veryclear understanding of exactly whatthe Bible tells us is in the bowels of theEarth. To continue to believe thesesilly theories put forth by vain men is

to accept the lies of what the ApostlePaul refers to as science, orknowledge, falsely so called:

"O Timothy, keep that which iscommitted to thy trust, avoiding

profane and vain babblings, andoppositions of science falsely socalled:" (1 Timothy 6:20)

The word 'science' in the previousverse is actually referring to falseknowledge. It is derived from theGreek word 'gnosis', pronounced gno'-sis, from which we derive the English

word 'gnosticism'.

Gnosticism is a false belief systemwhich asserts that Salvation is derivedthrough the obtainment of spiritualknowledge, rather than through faithin Jesus Christ. In a sense, secularhumanism and New Age thought teachthe very same thing; because they too

emphasize that man's Salvation comesnot through God and the Sacrifice ofHis Son Jesus Christ, but ratherthrough the work of his own hands.

By increasing his spiritual knowledgeand awareness, and by improving hisscience, man believes that he can behis own saviour. The grave danger

which exists here is that the spiritualknowledge currently being espousedby New Age thought advocates is falseknowledge. It is nothing but utter lies!

By this time, it should be rather clearto you that this whole story of AdmiralByrd and the Hollow Earth Theory, isnothing more than a terrible demonicdeception; and it is one of the worst

kind; because those who have beencaught up in it, can't even begin torealize the depth of the deceit, or theextreme spiritual danger that thesethings represent.

What is worse, is that many peoplewho consider themselves to beChristians, including certainprominent Christian leaders, have

been totally taken in by this demoniclie! The way Satan has accomplishedthis is quite remarkable. It is a plan

which he and his human cohorts havebeen working on for a very long time!Believe it or not, it was in the verysame year that Admiral Richard E.

Byrd is said to have entered theprevious notes into his personal diary,that is, in 1947, that a certain

worldwide ecclesiastical organizationcame into being. This organization isthe WCC; that is, the World Council ofChurches. Oddly enough, it was also in

that year that the UFO phenomenontook off on a flying start with theRoswell incident, and the WashingtonState fly-overs.

In order for you to understand this, itis important that you remember that it

was in the previous decade that JamesHilton wrote 'Lost Horizon'; which

only a few years later was released as amovie. Now let me ask you; what wasone of the primary themes of the 1973movie? The answer is peacefulcoexistence through moderation.Exactly how was it achieved in themovie? Earlier I mentioned that thephilosophy of Shangri-La was acombination of Christian andBuddhist beliefs! In other words, it

was ecumenism; the very same goalwhich is currently being espoused bynone other than the World Council ofChurches! The whole goal ofecumenism is to create a One WorldReligion. It isn't just to teach people torespect the different religious beliefsof their neighbors; but rather it is toeventually take the best of eachreligion, and to unite them into one'Super-Religion' which will beacceptable to everyone in a One WorldFamily under a One WorldGovernment, run by none other thanthe "King of the World' himself; theBeast!

While I don't know what inspired andmotivated James Hilton to write hisnovel, whether he intended for it tohappen or not, it appears that his workhas been used in both book form, as

well as in movie form, to slowlybrainwash people over the past sixty

years, so that they will accept what iscoming ahead. The true spirit ofShangri-La is the spirit of ecumenismand One Worldism. It is the dream ofa utopian society partially broughtabout through what is currently beingpropagandized as religious tolerance,and religious unity. This is quiteevident by recent gatherings of both

Christian and non-Christian spiritualleaders, such as the Dalai Lama; oneof the central figures in 'Lost Horizon'!

What these foolish compromisingChristian leaders don't realize, is thatthrough their actions, they are

weakening the very foundation of ourChristian heritage. Just like the New

Age thought advocates who view Jesusas Sananda, one of many 'AscendedMasters', these so-called Christianshepherds are helping to slowly stripJesus of His Divinity and uniquestatus as the only begotten Son of God.Furthermore, what none of thesepeople realize, is that while religiousunity may currently appear to be thefinal goal, it is all one demonic lie; forthe Scriptures clearly tell us that in theend, the 'King of the World' is going to

want to be worshipped as 'God'himself:

"And the king shall do according to hiswill; and he shall exalt himself, and

magnify himself above every god, andshall speak marvellous things againstthe God of gods, and shall prosper tillthe indignation be accomplished: forthat that is determined shall be done."(Daniel 11:36)

"Let no man deceive you by anymeans: for that day shall not come,except there come a falling away first,and that man of sin be revealed, theson of perdition; Who opposeth andexalteth himself above all that is calledGod, or that is worshipped; so that heas God sitteth in the temple of God,shewing himself that he is God." (2

Thessalonians 2:3-4)

"And he doeth great wonders, so thathe maketh fire come down fromheaven on the earth in the sight ofmen, And deceiveth them that dwellon the earth by the means of thosemiracles which he had power to do inthe sight of the beast; saying to themthat dwell on the earth, that they

should make an image to the beast,which had the wound by a sword, anddid live. And he had power to give lifeunto the image of the beast, that theimage of the beast should both speak,and cause that as many as would not

worship the image of the beast shouldbe killed." (Revelation 13:13-15)

This is precisely where all of thesethings are headed. As I state in otherarticles, such as 'The InternationalJew And The Protocols Of Zion', TheControllers are currently using everymeans at their disposal, whether it bethrough books, public education, themusic and film industries, mass

media, television, the Internet, etc. toslowly brainwash people, so that they

will accept the deceptive system whichwill soon be forced upon them. Inorder to achieve their goals, TheControllers must first totally destroyChristianity; because it is the biggest

obstacle in their path to worlddominion. This is because it teachesfaith in the one true God, who isuntouchable in the Heavenlies, andnot faith in some human orsubterranean demon god called the'King of the World' who resides inShamballah, Agharta.

For these workers of darkness tosucceed in their evil pursuits, weChristians must either be stripped ofour faith, or else be totally eliminated.Eventually, and perhaps very soon,this is precisely what may happen. As Ipoint out in other articles such as'Civil Disobedience And ChristianPersecution', the time is coming when

we will be hated by all men because of

our unwillingness to forsake our faithin the one true God. While others willcompromise their faith and gladlyaccept the new One World Religion inorder to save their skins, we must dono such thing. We must not receivethe Mark of the Beast, or worship hisimage. The period known as the GreatTribulation will indeed try, or test, thehearts of men everywhere. Only those

who have thoroughly groundedthemselves in the Word of God willhave the faith to stand up against theopposition, or at least die in theprocess. But as the old saying goes,'Sudden death, sudden glory!', for as itis written in His Word:
