Facts about Southern Seminary• Founded in 1859 in Greenville, South Carolina, as the

first seminary in the Southern Baptist Convention.• Moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1877 and to its present

campus on Lexington Road in 1926.• First session in 1859 included 26 students and four
