  • ADMOS 2013 International Conference on Adaptive Modeling and Simulation Lisbon, 3-5 June, 2013

    PROGRAMME

  • GENERAL INFORMATION

    Conference Venue Instituto Superior Técnico Civil Engineering Building Av. Rovisco Pais 1049-001 Lisboa How to access to the conference The sessions will take place in the Civil Engineering Building, item 2, Pavilhão de Civil, in the map below:

    − The “Rua Alves Redol” entrance (to the West, top in the map) is generally preferable for those that come from the “Saldanha” metro station and from Hotel Holiday Inn (Last minute: due to the construction work, those that come from Hotel Holiday Inn may prefer to use the “Av António José de Almeida” entrance, to the North, right in the map);

    − The “Av Rovisco Pais” entrance (to the South, left in the map) is closer to Hotel Turim;

    − The “Av Manuel da Maia” entrance (to the East, bottom in the map) is used if you come from the Alameda metro station. A short but steep climb is necessary.

    The lecture theatres (VA4, VA5 and VA6) are located in level 01. Registration, lunches and coffee breaks will be in level 02. Wireless internet is available using the eduroam network. There is an account with temporary access, for those without an eduroam account, available at the reception desk.

  • Social Programme 3 June, 19:30 Porto de Honra at Sala do Arquivo, Paços do Conselho da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (City Hall) Praça do Município Access by taxi, or metro “Baixa-Chiado” (exit: Rua do Crucifixo, opposite the escalators) and a 5 minutes walk. (http://goo.gl/maps/n1J7b) Entrance of the City Hall (GPS: 38.7081, -9.1388) 4 June, 20:00 Conference Dinner Restaurante Casa do Leão Castelo de São Jorge Access by taxi or bus (first take the metro to “Rossio”, exit: Praça da Figueira) and, from there, take bus 737. We recommend the 20 minutes walk from any of the downtown metro stations (“Rossio”, “Baixa-Chiado” or “Terreiro do Paço”) to those with flat shoes and a strong will to climb in life. Entrance of the Castle (GPS: 38.7126,-9.1331)

  • IST ACCESS

    Airport From Lisbon Airport (Portela) to IST Alameda campus is a 10 minutes' drive. Lisbon Airport is very close to the city centre – it is located 7km from the centre - and there are different alternatives to get there, namely by Metro to Aerobus, city bus (Carris) or by taxi. If you choose the metro to go from the airport straight to IST, you have the red line (linha vermelha) and you should exit in Alameda or Saldanha station. It takes around 15 to 20 minutes and costs €1,40 plus €0,50 for the "viva viagem" rechargeable card. Links: http://www.metrolisboa.pt/eng/customer-info/diagrams-and-maps/ http://www.yellowbustours.com/en/cities/lisbon/airport-transport/ http://www.carris.pt/en/buslines/

    Taxi Taxis allow you to arrive at IST from any point in the city, but of course the tariff also increases according to the distance, traffic and time of the day. An airport-IST trip is around €10. Note that there are two taxi lines in the airport. We recommend the one in the upper level, in the “Departures” area, which is generally more quiet (and has fewer complaints associated with).

    Bus The whole city of Lisbon is provided with an urban transport network with convenient timetables and frequent buses. The following buses stop near IST Alameda campus: § Av. Rovisco Pais/Av. António José de Almeida (side entrances):

    720, 742, 767. § Alameda: 708 (bike bus), 717, 718, 720, 735, 767; night bus:

    206, 208. § Saldanha/Arco do Cego: 713, 716, 720, 726, 727, 736, 738, 742,

    744, 767, 783; night bus: 207. For further information visit the Carris bus company website: http://www.carris.pt/en/buslines/

    Metro (Underground) § Saldanha metro station: Yellow Line (Linha amarela) and Red

    Line (Linha vermelha) § Alameda metro station: Green Line (Linha verde) and Red Line

    (Linha vermelha)
