The Surgeon is the result of a team-up of writer/ creator John Pence (The Ballad of Brighid of Atlanta)

and the kickass UHS team behind Super!

Chapter 1, “Turtle Island,” is an introduction to a

uniquely American postapocalypse and the tough,

damaged survivors who were left behind when the

wealthy and priveleged retreated to safety in

underground tunnel cities.

By turns sad, ferocious, funny, and relatable, this first

issue builds to a climax of blood and steel that sets
