Thermal steady currentDepending on cross-section and cable type, RobiFix can be used for a thermal steady current up to 180 A.With two RobiFix in a stacked configuration (RobiFix-Twin-Power), 320 A are possible (page 16).This is ideal for aluminium spot-welding guns.

Aluminum welding requires more welding current, usually more than 250 A on the primary side. Therefore bigger cables and larger power connectors are needed. With conventional solution, the robot dress-out would become extremely rigid. Thanks to RobiFix-TwinLock, you can carry up to 320 A (thermal steady current) and still keep the flexibility of your dresspack, even with single conductors up to 50 mm².

Aluminiumschweißen bedingt mehr Strom, primärseitig in der Regel über 250 A. Daher werden größere Kabelquerschnit-te und Steckverbinder benötigt. Mit herkömmlichen Lösun-gen würde das Roboterschlauchpaket zu steif werden. Dank RobiFix-Twin-Lock kann man bis zu 320 A (thermischer Dau-erstrom) übertragen. Selbst mit 50 mm² Einzeladern bleibt das Schlauchpaket noch flexibel.

Example: RobiFix in use as an electrical supply line for the power module on a Stäubli MPS-system (tool-changer).With RobiFix, you can standardize and install very economi-cally, the primary circuit connection from the robot base (J1) to the welding gun (J6).Benefits: the power cables inside the robot dresspack always end in the same connector, with or without the tool-changer.Similar to the primary circuit connector on the spot welding transformer, the power connector consists of a RobiFix plug-connection on the tool-changer. The new standard makes it possible for end-users to reduce extra amounts of dresspacks and energy supplies for the robot to a minimum.The docking plug connector MGK4-180-RFA has the advantage of being able to be assembled straight onto the tool-changer or at 60 degree angle, allowing optimal cable management.

Beispiel: RobiFix im Einsatz als Zuleitung zum Powersteckver-binder am MPS-System der Fa. StäubliMit RobiFix kann die Primärkreiszuleitung von der Einspeisung (J1) bis zur Roboterschweisszange (J6) durchgehend standar-disiert und deshalb sehr kostengünstig installiert werden.Vorteil: das Powerkabel im Roboterschlauchpaket endet im-mer mit demselben Steckverbinder, mit oder ohne Werkzug-wechsler.Analog zum Primärkreissteckverbinder am Schweisszangen-transformator besitzt jetzt der Powersteckverbinder am MPS-Wechsler einen RobiFix-Steckanschluss. Der neue Standard ermöglicht Endbenutzer die Vielzahl der Schlauchpakete und Energiezuführungen am Roboter auf ein Minimum zu reduzieren.Der Dockingsteckverbinder MGK4-180-RFA lässt sich gerade oder um 60° gedreht am Werkzeugwechsler befestigen was eine optimierte Kabelführung ermöglicht.

MGK4-180-RFA ist eine kundenspezifische Entwicklung von Multi-Contact für die Fa. Stäubli Tec-Systems. Diese Lösung ist dementsprechend über Fa. Stäubli zu beziehen.

The current capacity of a connection is limited by the thermal capacity of its contact, connecting and insulating materials. The derating diagram shows the continuous current (not inter-mittent) that flows through all the contact elements of a con-nector at one time, whereby the max. temperature limit is not exceeded.

Current characteristics for short operating periods are displayed below, in addition to the maximum continuous current (graph above). The duty cycle is determined within one cycle duration (relationship between switch-on and pause time).Example: With 50 mm² cables, RobiFix can transmit a continu-ous thermal current up to a maximum of 180 A, representing a duty cycle of 100 %. With a switch-on duration of 60 % and a pause time of 40 %, the connector can transmit 212 A.

Die Strombelastbarkeit von Steckverbindern wird durch die thermische Belastbarkeit der Werkstoffe, der Kontaktelemen-te einschließlich Anschlüsse und der Isolierteile begrenzt. Die Derating-Kurve gilt daher für Ströme, die dauernd, nicht intermittierend, durch jedes Kontaktelement der Steckverbin-dung gleichzeitig fließen dürfen, ohne dass die obere zulässige Grenztemperatur überschritten wird.

Nachstehend die Stromkennlinien für den Kurzzeitbetrieb, zu-sätzlich zu den maximalen Dauerströmen (Tabelle oben). Die Einschaltdauer (E. D.) wird innerhalb einer Zyklusdauer ermit-telt (Verhältniss von Einschalt- und Pausenzeit).

Beispiel: Mit 50 mm² Leitungen kann RobiFix bis max. 180 A thermischen Dauerstrom übertragen, es entspricht einer E. D. von 100 %. Bei einer Einschaltdauer von 60 %, und einer Pau-senzeit von 40 %, kann der Steckverbinder 212 A übertragen.
