All You Need to Know About UCD’s Communication Days 2011

Communication Days relies on word-of-mouth advertising to get students involved around the Auraria Campus.

Anyone who is interested in helping develop and promote Communication Days further is urged to contact the Communication Department in person as soon as possible.

We are always looking for new ideas and would love the input from any student, no matter what major or school affiliation.

What is Communication Days?

Keynote Speech and Awards Ceremony

In recognition of the global importance of environmental communication, we are planning to beam Dr. Cox’s speech live to our International College of Beijing students in China.

Awards presented include: Friend of the Communication Department; Distinguished Alumni Award; Service Award; Sonja Foss Award for Academic Excellence; Lael Porter Award for Community Service; and Robley Rhine Student Leadership Award.

Communication Days is a week-long celebration of community engagement, public speaking, and creative learning here at the University of Colorado Denver.

During the course of the week, guest speakers visit our classrooms to share their expertise with our students, culminating with the keynote speech by Dr. Robby Cox on Wednesday, April 13.

You don’t need to be a Communication major, or even a UCD student to attend Communication Days. All are welcome and encouraged to attend as many events as possible!

The Department’s Objectives for Communication Days include: 1) high attendance for the Keynote event; 2) media exposure of the event/Communication Days; 3) increased positive feelings of students toward the Department.

Event Schedule All events at Communication Days are free of charge and open to the public.

Keynote Speech:

Dr. Robby Cox, Emeritus Professor of Communication at the University of North Carolina and three-time President of the Sierra Club

Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11:00 am in the St. Cajetan’s Cathedral

Awards ceremony will take place after Dr. Cox’s speech.
