Ego integrity means coming to terms with life, and thereby coming to terms with the end of life.
VSDespair means being preoccupied with past experiences(failures, the bad decisions they made, and regret that they really don't have the time or energy to reverse them

disengagement theory
‘ego energy’ declines with age and as the ageing process develops, individuals become increasingly self-absorbed and less responsive to normative controls.
![Page 7: Advanced Research Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5584bbebd8b42a85768b4eda/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Exchange theory of aging defines that the aged has less power in relation to younger people because they possess fewer resources
![Page 8: Advanced Research Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5584bbebd8b42a85768b4eda/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
activity theory states that the more active and involved older adults are, the more likely they will be satisfied with their lives
![Page 9: Advanced Research Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5584bbebd8b42a85768b4eda/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Socioemotional Selectivity Theory explains the tendency of older adults in becoming more selective of their social networks
![Page 10: Advanced Research Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5584bbebd8b42a85768b4eda/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
