Activities at Camp Banksia make the most of our natural bushland and coastal setting, large grassed areas and variety of indoor and sheltered spaces.
You can choose to conduct activities on site or throughout Port Sorell at the beautiful estuary, river and beach.
Some activities are delivered by local experts including the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) Discovery Rangers
and the Snake Catcher Burnie (SCB), others can be self-led using Camp Banksia’s facilities and equipment.
Activities can be arranged to fit your schedule and modified to suit each group’s needs and abilities. Please note: a minimum booking of 3 hours for Parks and Wildlife sessions is required Monday–Friday with the ability to mix and match activities to fill the booking.

to Wildlife
The ranger will talk about the local wildlife and

Conservation Walk

Nature walks over Panatana Rivulet footbridge
to conservation area. History of Port Sorell; ship

Freers Beach A fantastic beach for fun, sand and play. A tidal bay

Fishing Rods Going fishing is a great way to enjoy the beach, relax and take in the beautiful surrounds of Port Sorell. Groups can fish nearby off the beach or take a walk to the Port Sorell pontoon about a kilometre from the camp.
