GOSAIN KUNDA:HIGH HIMALAYAN LAKES TREKTrek to the beautiful Gosain Kunda lakes. This trek is perfect if you are limited on time, but want to discover the full beauty of the Himalayas. We can leave Kathmandu in the morning and be trekking by that evening. From there, we will climb to a pass that takes you to the world-famous Gosain Kunda lakes. We’ll then descend through traditional Nepali villages where we’ll be immersed in the culture, staying in people’s homes and taking part in village life.

Our expert guides will ensure your trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They are very familiar with the trails, certified in Wilderness First Aid by globally-recognized training, and carry a complete first-aid kit as well as satellite communication devices.

ITINERARYDay 1 • Leave Kathmandu early in the morning for DuncheDay 2 • Trek to Singh Gompa and tour a yak cheese facility. About 4-7 hours of trekking depending on speed.Day 3 • Trek to Laurebina. We’ll be rising in altitude, so this is a short day to adjust to the thinning air. We’ll pass through an enchanting alpine forest and also get some beautiful views of the Himalayas surrounding you. Hiking time: approximately 3 - 5 hours.Day 4 • Trek to Gosain Kunda. In the morning, we’ll climb up a pass. Once we reach the top, a beautiful Himalayan valley will open before your eyes. Hiking time: approximately 3 - 5 hours.Day 5 • Day trip from Gosain Kunda.

Depending on the weather and group fitness, we can climb a 5,145 meter peak, or for those wanting more of a rest, we can take a day hike around the alpine lakes.From here, there is an option to return to Kathmandu. It will take 2 days to return. Or you can continue to trek to our homestay village. (see page 13.)Day 6 • Trek over a high-altitude pass to Phedi. We’ll continue to climb a little higher before beginning our descent. Hiking time: approximately 4 - 7 hours.Day 7 • Off the beaten path. Now the real adventure begins as we pass through untouched Sherpa and Tamang villages. Most of this day we’ll be descending. We’ll stay in a Sherpa village homestay for the evening, where you can sample the

local food, including Sherpa tea!Day 8 • Continue to descend, passing through Tamang villages, crossing by waterfalls, and taking in views of a beautiful valley. We’ll stay the night at Ghyangphedi homestay.Day 9 • Relax in Ghyangphedi as you get to immerse yourself in Nepali village life. Witness the culture first-hand as you stay in the homes of the people, explore their fields, and play in the local river with the kids.You can also choose to participate in one of our ongoing community development projects if you wish to stay a few extra days in Ghyangphedi.Day 10 • Wake up early in the morning to hike three hours and catch our ride back to Kathmandu.

HELAMBU:EVEREST VIEWS AND NEPALI CULTUREThis beautiful teahouse trek is located just outside Kathmandu, making it the perfect trek if you are short on time or not quite ready for a high-altitude adventure. We’ll trek through picturesque villages and forests. We’ll also see the towering, 8,000 meter mountains of the Everest region to the east. The sunrises of this region are breath-taking as the light pours over Mount Everest.

ITINERARYDay 1 • Leave Kathmandu early in the morning. We’ll drive an hour to the spot where we’ll start our trek. After 5-6 hours trekking through hills overlooking the beautiful Kathmandu valley and Shivapuri National park we will stay the night in a tea house. Day 2 • The sunrise view from here over the mountains is indescribable. After breakfast we’ll walk for 5-6 hours. When the weather is clear, you can see the tip of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. Day 3 • Wake up to another sunrise

over the top of the mountains. This day we’ll walk 4-5 hours. This area is especially culturally rich as we’ll walk through valleys that the locals have been farming for centuries.Day 4 • We’ll hike up for 3-4 hours to the village of Kutumsang.After this you can decide whether you’d like to continue to climb into the mountains towards Gosain Kunda (see page 5) or start descending to our homestay village.Day 5 • Hike through a beautiful valley with cliffs rising on either side.Day 6 • We’ll continue up the valley to where you’ll be immersed

RED PANDA CAMPING TREK:DISCOVER AN ENDANGERED SPECIESJourney to discover one of the most rare animals in Nepal in its natural habitat. We’ll camp out for several days as we track the Red Panda. Our local guides will lead you through the forest to the Red Panda’s habitat.

Most likely we’ll find this rare, yet friendly creature. Along the way, we’ll stay in a Nepali home stay where you’ll get to be immersed in Nepali mountain culture.

You will get to stay in a home with a family, experiencing Nepali village life. Day 2 • We’ll hike up into the mountains to the area where the Red Pandas make their habitat. This will be 6-7 hours of uphill hiking.Day 3-5 • We’ll camp in the jungle and search for the Red Panda with the help of local guides.

HOMESTAY TREK:GO OFF THE BEATEN PATHTrek from village to village, exploring a beautiful Himalayan valley, taking in mountain sights, and discovering Nepali villages. We’ll visit three different villages where you will stay in homes with the locals, experiencing first-hand Tamang and Sherpa cultures. You will eat with a host-family, play with the village kids, and stay in a room attached to their home. This trek is sure to open your eyes to the lives of these amazing people.

We’ll stay the evening with our host families.Day 2 • We’ll hike up today, hiking for 6-7 hours. But you will be rewarded with mountain views as well as a welcome

from the people of Sikharabesi, where we will stay the night.Day 3 • Today, we’ll descend down to the bottom of a valley, crossing rivers and through several small villages. We’ll stop in our final village stay, where you can refresh by jumping into the local river or exploring the waterfalls in the area.Day 4 • Take a day to relax and enjoy village life. This will give you

a chance to get to know your host family and see how they work, eat, and play. Enjoy a short hike to explore waterfalls.If you would like, you can choose to stay for a couple extra days and take part in one of our community development projects.Day 5 • Wake up early in the morning to hike three hours and catch our ride back to Kathmandu.

A VILLAGE HOMESTAY: IMMERSE YOURSELF IN NEPALExperience Nepali culture first-hand by staying with a family. Your heart will open to these people as you share meals of daal bhat (lentils and rice), laugh with them

ELEPHANT SAFARI: EXPLORE THE JUNGLE OF NEPALIt’s a little known fact that Nepal contains some of the greatest diversity of plants and wildlife in the world. You can explore it on the back of an elephant.

We’ll cross rivers, ride through thick forests, and search for rare animals in the lush jungle of Nepal. We’ll see rhinos, antelope, and some of the 407 species of birds that live in Bardiya National Park. If we’re really fortunate,

we may even catch a glimpse of a Bengal tiger. We’ll also explore the Karnali River by raft, seeing crocodiles and Nepal’s famous river dolphins. You can also combine this trip with a community development project, working with our partner communities for transformation.

ITINERARYDay 1 • Leave in the morning for Bardiya National Park by bus or airplane.Day 2 • If traveling by bus, arrive in Bardiya and stay the night in an air-conditioned lodge. If you came by airplane, tour our partner community and help with one of the ongoing projects. You’ll also learn about Tharu culture.Day 3 • Get up early in the morning for our jungle safari. We’ll start by riding deep into the jungle by jeep. Then we’ll meet the elephants and their mahouts (riders) who will escort us on our safari. We’ll then ride through the jungle and across

rivers.Day 4 • Get up early in the morning for a jungle walk. This is the best time to spot wildlife, as our expert local guides will track animals and make sure your are safe.After lunch, we’ll drive to the Karnali River to see Nepal’s river dolphins.Day 5 • After breakfast, we’ll drive to raft on the Karnali River. We’ll have lunch on the river. In the afternoon, we’ll head back to our lodge for dinner.Day 6 • Travel back to Kathmandu. If traveling by airplane, you’ll arrive in the evening. If traveling by tourist bus, you’ll arrive the next morning.

POKHARA: MOUNTAIN VIEWS FROM THE AIRSoar through the air and take in the mountains towering above the beautiful town of Pokhara. Whether you choose to paraglide or ride the zip-line, this adventure will get your adrenaline pumping and be an experience you’ll never forget. Pokhara is also the perfect place to relax after an adventure, with a picturesque lake and views of the Annapurna Mountains.

MOUNTAIN BIKING:EXPLORE KATHMANDU VALLEYThe best way to explore Kathmandu valley is by bike. Ride through ancient villages, across suspension bridges, and past rice fields and forests. Whether you haven’t ridden a bike

All our guides are certified in Wilderness First Aid by globally-recognized training. They also carry a first-aid kit and tools for bike repairs on the trail.

What to bringin years or you are looking for technical single track, we have the perfect ride for all ages and experience levels.

HALF DAY TOURThis ride is for beginning to intermediate riders. You will ride both paved and dirt roads, and even a suspension bridge. This ride is what we call Nepali Flat: “a little up, a little down.” You will pass through different villages with various cultural opportunities available including, but not limited to: visiting ancient temple squares, watching locals work in their fields, and viewing the Himalayas. This is the best way to explore the culture and landscape of the Kathmandu valley.

HALF DAY ADVANCED TOUR

For those wanting to ride harder and faster, but only have half a day, this is the ride for you and includes a bit of everything! We’ll start with paved roads, move to dirt roads, and onto single track. There’s a suspension bridge to cross, rice patties to traverse, hills to climb and descend, and maybe even a set of stairs for those feeling brave. On a clear day, this ride will provide mountain views. On those days when the Himalayas aren’t out, rural Kathmandu won’t disappoint with temple squares, farmers working their fields, animal crossings, and something new around each corner.

This ride has a bit of everything for the advanced rider! From the Five14 Guest House, you will brave traffic as you traverse the city and main roads. You will cruise paved and dirt roads, bump down stairs, flow through some single track, zip across suspension bridges, and earn your downhill speed with uphill climbs. Part urban, part rural, through city, village, rice fields, jungle, and ancient temple squares, this is a great ride to see what Nepal has to offer, all in a day. You will pass historic cultural and religious sites, and depending on the season, some amazing Himalayan views. Count on rubbing shoulders with the locals who will greet you with a smile and a Namaste.

SINGLE DAY ADVENTURES: RAFTING AND BUNGEE JUMPING

Inch your feet towards the edge, take a deep breath, and JUMP! Nepal has the second-highest bungee jump in the world, and for a real adrenaline rush, it doesn’t get better than this. You’ll jump from one of Nepal’s iconic suspension bridges into a beautiful gorge. You can also recover from your jump at the Last Resort, a comfortable resort located a few miles from the Nepali-Tibetan border. Add even more thrill to your adventure with rafting, canyoneering, or a canyon swing.
