Thanks to nature, the finest blend of links and parklandcourses in Ireland are probably in the Shannon Region. TheRegion has a wonderful mix of superb links and parklandcourses. Here you will find 25 top quality golf courses rangingfrom world-rated championship links to mature parklandcourses. Golfers can test their skills on the wind-swept dunesof a championship links, challenge the water-traps and otherhazards created by world famous designers or just play arelaxing eighteen holes on a parkland course with tree linedfairways.

On the west coast of Clare lies Lahinch, a legendary linkscourse established in 1892. The ‘Old’ Lahinch course offers aformidable challenge, in a spectacular setting. Across the road

golf

the Lahinch Castle Course provides a slightly less challenginglinks option. Just further south, is the Doonbeg Golf Resort, opened in 2002. This links masterpiece by Greg Norman, hasbeen developed out of such a natural habitat that you would beconvinced that it too was built in the19th century. Massivedunes stretch along a mile and a half of crescent-shapedbeach, with the Atlantic Ocean visible from almost every hole.North of Lahinch lies Spanish Point, a tricky 9-hole links, where accuracy is essential to register a good score.
