An adverb is a word which adds to the meaning of a verb, adjective and tells us how a thing is done, when it is done, or where it is done.
Example-It rained heavily.Nibha will leave for England tomorrow.The thirsty crow looked for water everywhere.

1. Adverbs of Manner
The adverbs that show how or the manner in which an action is done are called Adverbs of Manner. They answer the question ‘How?’-foolishly, carefully, silently, cowardly, smartly, fast, soon are all adverbs of manner.
Example- 1. Gulliver acted wisely and defeated the enemies of Lilliputians.
2. My grandfather walks slowly.

2. Adverbs of Time
The adverbs that show when an action is done are called Adverbs of Time. They answer the question ‘When?’-late, today, yesterday, tomorrow, daily, early, immediately are adverbs of time.
Example- 1. The schools in Delhi are closed today because of extreme cold.
2. The Kingfisher flight was late yesterday.

3. Adverbs of Place
The adverbs that show where an action is done are called Adverbs of Place. They answer the question ‘Where?’- here, above, outside, forward, there, everywhere, in, out are adverbs of place.
Example- 1. The Indian army marched forward. 2. The bus does not stop here.
