Our 800 Team Schein Members, including 175 Field Sales Consultants, 140 Service Technicians, 20 Equipment Sales Specialists, and 45 Customer Service Representatives, plus12 Branch Offices and 3 Distribution Centres, ensure we provide optimum levels of sales and service to our customers. We have designed this easy to use Media Kit to help you invest your advertising funds to achieve the best possible results. A simple process helps you with your advertising decisions:
1. Review the media options available for the markets you want to address – Dental, Zahn, Equipment, Special Markets and Medical.
2. Review the rate sheet and ad space closing date tables.
3. Complete the Booking Form in the respective section of this document, email or fax it to the number provided.
Our administrative processes are efficient and well defined:
1. A Special Promotion Agreement Invoice (SPA) will be issued when your ad goes live.
2. Our invoice will include an electronic link to a copy of your promotion.
3. Our terms are due upon receipt. Any outstanding SPA balances greater than 60 days will be automatically deducted from our Accounts Payable balances unless unresolved discussions are taking place with the invoiced vendor.

one umbrella.
Building on the theme of Helping Health Happen, our
“Calendar of Caring” opens the door allowing Vendor Partners
and Customers to become involved in Henry Schein’s programs
ranging from supporting Total Health, the Environment,
Community Wellness, and Dental School humanitarian initiatives.
One of Benjamin Franklin’s aphorisms was “Doing Well by Doing
Good” - this is something that Henry Schein believes in. We are

together we can make a difference for those in need.

What is the Henry Schein Calendar of Caring?Henry Schein recognizes that service extends beyond the workplace to our home communities. Because of this, Henry Schein is ranked first in our industry for social responsibility on FORTUNE’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies. We have created a unique publication for our Dental customers containing specially-selected products that relate to our social responsibility initiatives. Our vendor partners provide these products at a special discount, and we apply proceeds from the sale of these items directly toward the support of our charitable causes.
What initiatives are sponsored by Henry Schein’s Calendar of Caring?Our core initiatives support: Holiday Cheer, Breast Cancer Awareness, Back to School, Oral Cancer Awareness, Going Green and Global Product Donations. We also support UBC Dentistry’s Community Program, other School Partnerships, Local Outreach Clinics and additional community based programs.
How is the Calendar of Caring flyer being distributed?The 2014 Calendar of Caring flyer will be distributed to 18,000 dental offices across Canada as an insert with our regular January Dental flyer, and will be active from January to December 2014. There will be monthly reminders in our dental flyer with symbols on participating vendors and items.
What are the benefits of being a part of the Calendar ofCaring?Increase your corporate social responsibility exposure by partnering with Henry Schein in our existing nationwide programs. Your involvement will not only directly benefit social causes across Canada, but also give your brand extra exposure to 18,000 dentists across the country. We proudly highlight our partnering vendors in our Calendar of Caring publication, our monthly sales flyers, on our website and at tradeshows.
How can I be a part of the Calendar of Caring program?We are looking to partner with our vendors to supply products at a 10% cost discount that coincides with each Calendar of Caring marketing program. This percentage of cost discount provided for each product sold will be donated to the Henry Schein Cares initiatives and distributed amongst the causes. Each Vendor also has a chance to advertise or provide us with an advertorial in the Calendar of Caring flyer.

NEW PRODUCTSHenry Schein prides itself in providing our customers with products offering the latest in technology, innovation, and convenience. Along with our Business Partners’ support, we have the ability to introduce new products through our Field Sales Consultants, supported by our Direct-marketing Capabilities (print and electronic). We can create awareness and demand in the marketplace.
The ideal way to appropriately present new products to our team is through an “in-person” product presentation. This setting allows for important interaction between the teams, along with a better understanding of the market and product potential. It also ensures a more coordinated marketing plan to effect a successful launch into the market. Although we understand that time and distance may prohibit this event from taking place, this type of interaction is absolutely necessary if the product is a major focus for your company. Please turn the page for more information on “How to Successfully Launch a Product Through Henry Schein.”
If you have a new product that you would like Henry Schein to distribute, the following information must be provided directly to the appropriate Product Category Manager through the use of the New Product Submission Form or Canadian Addendum (whichever is appropriate):
1. Product description.
2. Pricing information—cost, suggested retail, and any promotional pricing.
3. Features/benefits statements.
4. Market launch details.
5. MSDS. If not required, a letter stating so must be submitted.
6. Technical support data.
7. Product sample, if possible.
8. Product photo supplied on CD or via E-mail in both high resolution (300 DPI) Mac or PC-based for print use, and low resolution (72 DPI) PC-based for Web use. All disks must be accompanied by a printout of photos on the disk.

“HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCH A NEWPRODUCT THROUGH HENRY SCHEIN CANADA”
Henry Schein prides itself in providing our customers with products offering the latest in technology, innovation, and convenience. Along with our Business Partners’ support, we have the ability to introduce new products through our Field Sales Consultants, supported by our direct-marketing capabilities. We can create awareness and demand in the marketplace. The key to a successful product launch is developing a coordinated plan that includes the following activities:
• Lead Time—Ensuring that we have the appropriate amount of lead time to react and plan is the most critical factor in a successful product launch: consequently, many of our marketing vehicles have lead times of up to 90 days. A successful launch really depends upon our hitting on all cylinders at the same time that you are launching your product into the market. Therefore we ask that you include us in your launch process and allow us the time to properly plan and execute our part in any of your new product launches.
• Comprehensive Marketing Plan—To include all or some of the following: sale flyer exposure, Web advertising, package stuffers, E-mail blasts, target mailings, etc. This plan should begin at the official product market launch and should provide exposure for at least six months after.
• New Product Launch Package—This is a package of information that is distributed by us to our 170+ Field Sales Consultants. This package should contain but is not limited to the following: co-authored introductory memo from Henry Schein and your company, customized sell sheets, samples if applicable, technical product literature, and anything else relevant to the product. This package should be scheduled to arrive on or before the official product market launch date.
Products will vary in the need for all or some of the activities stated above. Some products may need more sales focus whereas others would rely on a more focused direct-marketing approach. We can assist you in choosing the direction that is best for you and your product. All of these activities can be planned out and coordinated through our Product Category Managers at the time of the new product presentations. They will then be executed by members of the Marketing team.
Our extensive customer base and efficiencies in database marketing allow you to reach the largest group of potential customers all in one place. We want to be the place you come to FIRST in looking for a partner with whom to successfully launch your products to the dental market.

Preparing FilesTo avoid reproduction problems:• Ads must be provided in English and French. If the translation is not supplied, TYPE MUST BE EDITABLE and a
charge of $0.25 per word will be billed to you for our translation service. • All fonts and graphics must be included with your ad.
• Ensure all colour is converted from RGB to CMYK and/or is set for process separation (CMYK printing). • Confirm that the file is prepared to the size that is booked. • GIFs are NOT acceptable for publication (see “Acceptable File Formats" below).
