CASHMERE PASHMINAS
Cashmere is a soft, luxurious wool harvested from the undercoat of goats living at high altitudes. It is collected during the spring moulting season when the goats naturally shed their winter coat. Our cashmere is sourced from the Kashmir region which borders India and Pakistan.
Cashmere garments are precious investment pieces. They are long lasting and actually become softer with age. They travel well and don’t wrinkle easily. Plus they offer great insulation, keeping you warmer when it’s cold and cool when it’s not.
Cashmere is a precious and relatively expensive fibre. Shawls or pashminas made from real cashmere will cost more than the $20 or $30 prices advertised by some unscrupulous vendors.

SILK PASHMINAS
We offer two kinds of silk shawls. Our heavy silk shawls are made from pure mulberry silk.
Our silk/wool shawls are woven with silk running the length of the weave and super fine merino wool on the width of the weave. This weave, combining silk and wool, was first produced in the 15th century and has been made in India ever since. This weave gives the shawl its distinctive character and produces its slender drape, elegant silk sheen and soft, delicate feel.

MERINO WOOL PASHMINAS
These beautiful, hand woven and hand embroidered wool pashminas can be worn either as a scarf or a shawl. The fine merino wool offers the ultimate combination of comfort and warmth.
Merinos are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep. Merino wool has a microscopic diameter - about 1/3 to 1/10 the thickness of human hair. Merino also has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio compared with other wools, in part because the smaller fibres have microscopic cortices of air, trapping body heat similar to the way a sleeping bag warms its occupant.

Pure silk scarves designed exclusively for Advika. Our silk scarves are woven with silk running the length of the weave. This weave, combining silk and wool, was first produced in the 15th century and has been made in India ever since.
