INTRODUCTION

The demand for making air traveling more 'pleasant, secure

and productive for passengers is one of the winning factors.

In an aeronautical scenario global coverage is essential for

providing continuous service. Therefore satellite

communication becomes indispensable, and together with the

ever increasing data rate requirements of applications,

aeronautical satellite communication meets an expansive

market.

Changing From GSM To UMTS And W-LAN

As seen earlier GSM [Global System for Mobile] technology was

prohibited. So it become essential for providing an

TDMA[Time Division Multiple Access].

As the new rising standards for UMTS[universal mobile

telecommunication system] and W-LAN[wireless local area network] was

possible and has to be changed for good aeronautical

system.

And much more these were developed today.

Major Problems.

• The wireless technology will co-exist.

• Access to any resources will be difficult.

• IP address shall collide with each other.

Hence, the Wireless Cabin Architecture came into

existence.

Wireless Cabin Architecture

• The wireless solution is for IFE [In Flight Entertainment].

• Such that easier way for broadcasting and provision

internet access to different passengers.

• Co-exist of different networks is depilated.

Components used for WCA.

Wireless LAN according to IEEE 802.11 b standard for IP

services.

An UMTS Pico-cell for personal and data communications.

Bluetooth1.1 for data transfer.

A satellite segment for interconnection of the cabin with

the terrestrial telecom networks.

The aircom provider segment provides the interconnection

to the terrestrial personal and data networks as well as the

Internet backbone.

CONCLUSION

• We have conclude that:

• Changes in Aeronautical communication has made

evergreen changes meeting the passenger demand’s.

• It has made the depletion into the cost of heavy device’s.
