TAJWEED LEVEL 2

AIMS

The aim of the course is to help develop learners to become confident and independent readers ofthe Holy Qur’an whilst observing the rules of tajweed.

Strengthening your relationship with the Quran Perfecting our most central act of worship through reciting the Quran properly Practicing not only the correct tajwid of Juz ‘Amma, but also you can choose to memorize the

chapters so that the rules of tajwid are fully ingrained on your tongue The course is designed in a very simple manner such as to render easy for adult learners the

theories and rules behind reading Arabic.

DETAILS

Introduction

Reciting the Holy Qur’an is a virtuous rite and intensely extolled by the Noble Prophet Muhammad (maythe peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). This immense liturgical rite although supererogatory isnevertheless an action that draws one closer to our Master and Creator, Allah. It is reported that theProphet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best voluntary (nafl) act of worship is the recitationof the Qur’an” [Al-Hadith]. The course will last for 30 weeks and be a total of 60 learning hours. Thiscourse will focus on the seven basic rules of tajweed together with the practical application of these rules.It will revise and revisit the Arabic alphabets and its correct pronunciation. By the end of the courselearners should be able to independently read the Qur’an whilst observing the rules of tajweed. Theyshould have a certain degree of mastery over the correct pronunciation of words and letters. This coursewill concentrate learners to master the recitation of the 30th chapter of the Qur’an (Juz ‘Amma). Alllearners can expect to experience an enjoyable, fun and professionally delivered course.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Learners on this course must be able to read the Qur’an by themselves. The “The Science of Reading theQur’an” has been designed to cater for learners that know how to read the Holy Qur’an but lack theknowledge of tajweed either partially or completely. This course will help develop the learner’s readingskills, pronunciation and knowledge of tajweed .

COSTS

The course will cost £115.00. The fees are payable in full and are non-refundable. Payments can be madeonline, cash or cheque. All cheques should be made payable to The Abrahamic Foundation. The coursefees include the cost of all course materials.

Learning Outcome At this stage learners should have developed the skill of reading theQur’an independently along with rules of tajweed. They should be ableexplain the rules and read any part of the Qur’an with tajweed.

SCHEDULE

The course will run during term time only. Your instructor will let you know when the holidays are. Thecourse will run every Tuesday evenings 6 pm to 8 pm.
