What are stars

The navigational stars

Explorers have used the stars as a compass for millennia, and if you’re out having adventures at night, you should

add the skill to your arsenal.

It’s always within one degree of true north. So use the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia are your guides. Look at the Dipper’s ladle and pretend you’re

pouring soup from it. The flow of that space soup will point straight to the North Star..

Big stars are very big Bigger then the sun and stars are in different shapes and in colour.

The Constellation of stars

A constellation is an internationally defined area of the celestial sphere. These areas are grouped around patterns that represent the

shapes that give the name to the constellations. When astronomers say an object is "in" a given constellation, they

mean it is within the boundaries of one of these defined areas of sky.
