Re: Affiliate Network Configuration Guide: OPTION 1 AFFILIATESREV B

This document describes the affiliate configuration for OPTION 1 affiliates. OPTION 1 affiliates are

affiliates who have chosen to use their own video servers, switchers, MPEG encoders, etc. OPTION 2affiliates are affiliates who are using THIS BoX!, an all-in-one video server/automation system/MPEGencoding system from Thomson Grass Valley Group that is available now. A PDF brochure is availablefor download at www.thisaffiliate.com in the Engineering Specs section. Contact your localThales/Thomson/GVG rep for details.

THIS Network is distributed to affiliates digitally via C-Band satellite AMC-3 transponder 7. THIS tv usesQPSK-DVB modulation and MPEG2 4:2:0 encoding. Currently, THIS tv is in the clear and is notscrambled. THIS tv is designed to be fully automated and interfaces to your automation system via GPItriggers that will trigger your automation system to run local commercial breaks as well as other variousevents.

As noted in previous documents, there are several required pieces needed for OPTION 1 affiliates:

1)3.8M C-Band Satellite Antenna on AMC-3. Each affiliate will need a minimum 3.8 meter satellitereceive antenna and digital satellite receiver (IRD) dedicated to THIS on a full time basis. Smallerantennas will give un-predictable results and will likely result in a picture that cuts in and out and sufferstiling.

    2) Tandberg TT-1221, Network IRD (Satellite Receiver). Each affiliate will need a Tandberg TT-1221IRD. Please note that the TT-1221 MUST have the options noted in the Affiliate Technical document. For the latest documents and for all previously published documents, log on tohttp://www.thisaffiliate.com . The network specified configuration has a QPSK input and two configurableASI/SDI outputs. Output one is configured as an embedded SDI output. Output two is configured as anASI output. The Tandberg TT-1221 may ONLY be substituted for the Tandberg TT-1260 under the sameconfiguration. The Tandberg IRD should not be substituted for any other equivalent IRDs. It will notwork properly with the Ensemble Designs Network Logo Inserter or Norpak SCTE-35 to GPI converterand will suffer network timing issues that will affect the timing signals being sent to your automationsystem.

GPO Trigger #6: SNIPE ROLL-OVER. Connects to your automation system to trigger local Dekocast orsimilar banner roll-overs. During programming, now/next banners will appear and you may not be airingthe programming advertised in the banner as next. This trigger allows you to make a local now/nextbanner to key over the network. This trigger will become active 3Q 2009.

GPO Trigger #7 and #8 are workaround triggers needed for the Ensemble Designs Network LogoInserter.

See AFFILIATE EQUIPMENT LAYOUT schematic for all wiring and configurations.

All required components are not substitutable. You may not replace it with something that should work.It will not be compatible. Since this is an automation driven network, timing is critical. All systems abovehave been tested as a system. THIS Network engineering is currently testing the Evertz 9625A SD LogoInserter. In addition to Network Logo Insertion functions, it will also support EAS crawls and audiobreakaway. Affiliates will be notified once this optional NLI is available for air use.

TANDBERG TT-1221 ConfigurationThere are a few configurations needed in the Tandberg TT-1221. Read the owners manual to get anidea of the menu hierarchy then make the following changes:

Enable Closed CaptioningSETUP - VIDEO SETUP - 525 SETUP - CLOSED CAP: AUTO

Configure the QPSK InputSETUP INPUT - LNB FREQ: 5.1500SETUP INPUT - SAT FREQ: 3.8339SETUP INPUT - SYM RATE: 2.734SETUP INPUT - INNER CODE: 5/6SETUP INPUT - LNB VOLT: 18V *18V IF NEEDED TO POWER THE LNB, OFF IF NOT

    Output ConfigurationSETUP OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI - SELECT OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI OUT 1: SDISETUP OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI- SELECT OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI OUT 2: ASISETUP OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI - CONFIG ASI OUT - OUTPUT: DESCRAMBLESETUP OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI - CONFIG SDI OUT - EMB AUDIO GROUP: 1SETUP OUTPUTS - ASI/SDI - CONFIG SDI OUT - EMB AUDIOS: ONE

Disable EBU Subtitle AlarmSETUP OUTPUTS ALARMS - SELECT ALARMS VBI EBU SUBT NO DATA: -

The IRD is now ready for THIS tv NETWORK Service. If everything is setup successfully, you will see

THIStv NETWORK on the IRD home screen display and a green LED on the front of the Tandberg. The status line will read System: OK if no errors are present. See manual for alarm descriptions.

Norpak TSD-100 ConfigurationThere are a few configurations needed in the Norpak SCTE-35 to GPO decoder. Read the ownersmanual to get an idea of the menu hierarchy then make the following changes:

Connect an analog NTSC monitor to the OSD ANA port of the TSD-100.

    On-board SW2 is an up/down/left/right and push-for-select style joystick.

    1) Power cycle the card.2) Check the current firmware version. YOU MUST BE RUNNING VERSION A.2. If you are not

running firmware version A.2, go to www.thisaffiliate.com Username: thisaffiliate Password:pickletree. Under ENGINEERING-SPECS, click on the NORPAK UPDATE folder and downloadthe TSD-100 Firmware Update Guide.pdf.

    3) Using SW2, select the SETTINGS menu and click the select button on SW2 and change toGPIO. Press select again.

    4) Once in the GPIO menu, move down to GPIO and select GPIO 2.5) Move down to PID and change to 800 [320h].6) Move down to CONDITION and select SCTE 35 AUTOMATIC.7) Move down to MATCH EVENT and select ENABLE8) Move down to EVENT ID# and select +29) Move down to mS and select 900. This is the pulse duration used for the GPO to feed your

automation system. If more or less is needed, make the appropriate selection. Generally, 900mS is a safe selection.

    10) Move down to SET TRIGGER and click the select button on SW2. This will save the settings11) Power cycle the card and verify that the GPIO 2 settings are in place.12) Using the same navigation as you did in GPIO 2, you will now program the remaining GPIO
