Greetings!
In this fast paced world, compassion takes a back seat to self-interest
and expendable human activities. At Jain Public School we strive to
nurture our students to bloom in to compassionate human beings who understand the value
of life, human and otherwise. We propagate and live by Lord Mahavir's preaching, “Live and
allow others to live; hurt no one; life is dear to all living beings.” The plain fact is that the
planet doesn't need merely successful people. It desperately needs more leaders who would
be peacemakers, healers and restorers. We humans, being the only mammals with an
extended gestation period, have compassion sewn in to our DNA. By raising our children to
be compassionate and value-bound, we aim to enlighten the future generation for a better
tomorrow - a world filled with peace. We educate our children that peace is only a thought
away.
According to the words of author and psychotherapist Loch Kelly,“Unconditional love flows
through specific channels of respect, integrity, purpose, meaning, value, responsibility,
forgiveness, kindness and compassion — and these form the foundation of our new, naturally
ethical lives.” The blooming buds at our Jain Public School are taught this philosophy and
practice kindness to all life forms in various ways. We observe forgiveness week during
Paryushan parva. During this period children realise the inner peace obtained by seeking and
offering forgiveness.
Kindness does not demand hard work. It originates from the simple act of not doing harm to
others. Let's realise that there is no enemy outside our soul. All our enemies live within us;
they are anger, pride, greed, attachments and hate. By fighting our inner demons we can
absolve the world of all hatred and negativity. Let's pledge to join hands in making our
children compassionate enough to walk in the path of world peace.
Our aim while establishing Jain Public School, a not-for-profit educational institution was to
produce compassionate leaders who respected and lived by value systems. I am elated to see
that the school is moving in the right path towards its vision. I wish all the students and the
staff of the Jain Public School a successful year which would enable them to mould students
to become their betterselves in all spheres.

DR. KANNAN GIREESH
MD (Psychiatry)
Greetings!
The human mind is a source of great power. It encases unimaginable
and untapped energy in its fold. Its ability to think, ask questions,
look for solutions and adapt itself to change has been the cause of
Evolution, Great Revolutions and immense Transformation.
As a consultant psychiatrist I have dealt with students, teenagers and youth from different
strata of society. Having delved deep into the roots of all their problems I discovered that the
prevailing education system failed to equip them to lead happy and holistic lives. This spurred
me on a great Mission; a great journey to transform the Education system to a Life based
Education Curriculum. It was a lonely difficult path I had chosen, which by God's grace,
transformed to a great Revolution, star-studded with recognition, faith and immense love.
Today's learners are sitting on an ocean of information. We need to equip them with skills
that train them to prioritize their choices, map their achievements, mould their attitude,
behavior, develop skills and lead their own learning. If this is done, we have already trained
them to live focused, purposeful and happy lives.
Having worked with world renown trainers like Jack Canfield, Dr. Daniel Amen, Prof. Michael
Jenson and many others, I have formulated many value based programmes that are creating
great impact on human thinking. Partnering with Franklin Covey and inception of the Leader
In Me Curriculum for our school is a giant leap towards Educational transformation. The initial
results of the programme are reflecting beautifully in our school community in terms of peer
bonding, increased confidence and improved communication skills. We shall touch global
recognition once we transform to a true Leadership school, a Lighthouse school.
stWe want our learners to use 21 century skills to solve the challenges of real life and at JPS
we intend to give opportunities to plethora of activities with right blend of technological
integration in terms of GAFE (Google Application for Education) enabled school.
Our responsibility doesn't end here. It is not mere academic or cultural transformation within
the school community. It permeates to fostering bonds of familial bonding, trust, feelings of
self-worth and nourishing everyone's emotional and psychological needs. We are dedicated to
create true class leaders who having realized their potential carry the beacon of
transformation to the community, the society and the world.

Greetings!
This year starts with the happy note of yesteryear's
achievements and the determination to break all the
benchmarks. JPS started the journey with the enviable aim of
transcending education beyond the four walls. This year we shall continue with
fortified strength with perfect blend of academics and co- curricular activities.
Last year witnessed a shower of achievements including the prestigious 'Delhi Green
School award' and the award for 'Top CBSE School in India for Innovation in
teaching pedagogies by Education Today'. The renowned Gobar Times magazine
deemed it fit to share the best green practices followed at JPS by publishing them.
JPS became the first school to be GAFE enabled, implementing technology in all
aspects of work functioning
JPS is now the proud official license holder of TEDx. This year shall witness the
spectacular event TEDxJPSChennai hosted by JPS. We transcended all barriers that
narrow down a child's dream and imagination by exposing our children to mutually
share their ideas and culture with their counterparts in various countries like
Pakistan, Japan, Nigeria and the UK. This year we aim at taking it to the next level
through the British Council's International School Award.
Our students proved their mettle by achieving in various competitions like the
Olympiad, Spellbee and National level talent search exams apart from the interschool
achievements in sports. We hosted a variety of unique events such as the Marching
band competition, Astronomy Day, Principals' conclave, to name a few.
We are keen at ensuring the safety of every student. We build for our students a
fence of security and not a fetter on their freedom. We have vowed to channelize
their energy but give wings to their imagination. Discipline and liberty will smoothly
co-exist. We hope to receive your continued support and encouragement to outshine
our previous records.
I wish you all a successful and enlightening new academic year 2019-2020

the head is held high” These lines are lived at Jain Public school. A safe home like environment is
ensured so that learning and knowledge can flow uninhibited. The POSCO committee and the
VISHAKHA committee ensures that a safe physical environment is guaranteed to the students. CCTV
cameras are installed at each strategic place and in school buses. Strict policies are implemented as

steps towards environmental and resource conservation, and controlling and reducing the carbon
footprint in the school and its surroundings. This involves planned guided steps in auditing levels of
pollution and consumption, comparing standards, getting certification and then planning mitigation
strategies.

the schools in their endeavor of implementing green practices and work towards Green building
certification. It is the first school of Chennai to initiate a unique program of creating artificial
forests through the Japanese method of MIYAWAKI. School has tied up with Thuvakkam, an NGO
that spearheads many such unique programs. In the very first year of its green initiative it has
bagged prestigious CSE, Delhi Green School Award.

STUDENT LED INITIATIVES
The elections to various positions of the student's council allowed the students to experience the
process of Democracy. The Students council takes up the initiative of organizing events, programs
and conferences. Exemplary planning and flawless implementation of the events proves that the
dream to transform the society and create real leaders is turning to reality. This is only the
beginning, in almost all future events students would take up key responsibilities and prove their
mettle.
One of the most unique and successful event was the spectacular Students Led Conference
organized in school in the month of November where the students exhibited and showcased their
learning in various academic subjects, visual and performing arts, skill based vocational training,
sports, technology, environmental awareness and initiatives and myriad other spheres.

of learning. They displayed static and working models in various academic subjects, life skills in
the form of skill club displays, performing arts like music, drama, dance and instrumental.

and provide an opportunity to students to use multiple intelligences in practical way. It is
relevant and meaningful and it prepares the children with skills required for fast changing

there are non-obvious ways to lead. Just by providing a good example as a parent, a
friend, a neighbour makes it possible for other people to see better ways to do things.
Leadership does not need to be a dramatic, fist in the air and trumpets blaring, activity”

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public
interest research and advocacy organisation based in New
Delhi. CSE researches into, lobbies for and communicates the
urgency of development that is both sustainable andequitable. School successfully runs Green school programme

the school with regard to land, waste, water, air and energy parameters and thereby successfully mitigate
to reduce the carbon footprint.
The Climate Reality Project India is the Indian branch of Nobel
Laureate and former Vice President Al Gore's climate change
leadership program founded in June 2006. Climate Reality's
mission is to educate the public about the harmful effects of climate
change and to work towards solutions at a grassroots level worldwide. School has successfully collaborated
and trained teachers to become sustainability leaders and take forward sustainable education to the
learners.
Google Apps for Education is a set of applications that can be used, for free, as a school-wide software
solution to provide cloud-based access to collaborative teaching and learning. Jain Public school is the first
school in Chennai to be a Google application enabled school. G-Suite and various technological applications
are successfully implemented in school processes

“The fountain of wisdom flows through books”. The habit of reading enriches one’s
own knowledge. Some books entertain, others instruct, still others elevate our nature.
Books bring to your side the comfort of your home, a liberal education and
entertainment.
They tell us the great discoveries and inventions, the progress of our world in science
and medicine, the history, culture and values of civilization and the shapers of history.
Now make it a habit to read, make full use of your library and keep a record of it.

closely - both consciously and subconsciously. He will
observe your friends and learn good or bad
values from them too.
18. Forgive his mistakes. Tell him his mistakes and allow
him to learn from them.
19. Give him your time. Play games with him, read to him,
help him with homework, ask him about his friends.
Talk little - listen more. Let him open his heart out to
you. Always remember - A family that plays
together - stays together.

tasks at home. Encourage him to put his books and
toys in the right place and to keep his environment
clean.
23. Do not speak lie in front of your child - Remember
your child has a video cassette recorder in his mind
which is not only recording your voice when you are
telling lies on the phone or to a friend but also watching
and recording your body movements. The way you are
treating your parents, friends, employees - everything is
recorded to be played back to you later in life.
24. Encourage him to take active part in sports and
games. Teach him to learn to lose and enjoy winning.
It is not the winning that counts all the time,
participating is equally important.

to give all the good things to your child but there are
times when you cannot.
27. Do not make comparisons. Children lose their
confidence. Each child will blossom at his own pace.

rather than to cheat.
