I t is with great pleasure that African Diaspora Network in partnership with International diaspora Engagement Alliance (idEA), Homestrings and One World Children’s Fund invite you to the 2016 Silicon Valley African Diaspora Investment Symposium, to be held on January 29th and 30th, 2016 at the Biltmore Hotel and Suites in Santa Clara, California. The symposium will highlight African diaspora’s current and potential future contribution to the continent through direct investment, small business development, philanthropy, and innovation. It will also provide a unique opportunity to engage key stakeholders from different sectors to discuss the needs of the continent as well as the existing business investment opportunities. The symposium will include announcements of new Africa-specific programs that will offer greater opportunities for the Diaspora to engage more significantly in economic growth across Africa. Participants will share insights from current Diaspora initiatives and investment opportunities. The symposium will focus on: • Providing a platform to showcase investment opportunities in the continent • Bringing regional and national investors together with the existing Diaspora leaders to discuss and exchange ideas that will lead to increased private investment in the Continent • Building a database of existing business investment opportunities in the Continent • Providing an opportunity for the diaspora living in California and other parts of the country to learn about and engage with the work of IdEA, Homestrings, and other diaspora organizations and business entities FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH 6:00 – 8:00 PM Welcome and Networking Reception Invited guests, businesses, venture capitalists, corporate leaders, local dignitaries, community leaders, officials from selected African countries, and Africa-based innovation experts will be in attendance at the Biltmore Hotel and Suites in Santa Clara, CA.
