DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
• The Department of English in association with IQAC has initiated an extension activity
Fund Raising Programme for the Blind. An amount of Rs.1500/- was collected from
the students and donated to the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB), Madurai,
Tamilnadu.
• Smt D.Divya, Lecturer in English has attended a Faculty Development Programme on
“Effective Teaching” organized by P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts&Science,
Vijawayada on 24th October, 2016.
• Smt D.Divya, Lecturer in English has attended a Faculty Development Programme
Workshop on “Technology in the Class Room” organized by SDMS College,
Vijayawada on 4th November, 2016.
• Ms.G.Soni, Head, Dept.of English and Smt D.Divya, Lecturer in English have
participated in a UGC Sponsored Multi-Disciplinary National Seminar on “INDIA’S
DEMONETIZATION POLICY – PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES” and presented
a paper entitled “Demonetization – Indian Farmers Fear Losing Crops & Income
from Government Move Against Black Money” organized by the Arts Department,

• The Department of English in association with IQAC has organized a Workshop on
“Careers in English Language” by Dr.G.Sri Latha, P.B.Siddhartha College,

• Ms.G.Soni, H.O.D of English participated in a Two Day Residential Training
Programme on “Gender Sensitization” during 19th and 20th January, 2017 at Andhra
Pradesh Human Resource Development Institute, Bapatla.
• The Department of English and Exams Wing in association with IQAC have organized a
workshop and an interactive session on “PREPARATION FOR PEER TEAM VISIT
FOR NAAC ACCREDITATION” by Sri P.Gopichand, M.A,M.Phil,(Ph.D),Associate
Professor & Teacher Trainer, J.K.C College, Guntur on 27th December, 2016.
• Sri B.Bulli Babu, Lecturer in English has participated in a UGC Sponsored Two-Day
National Seminar on “INDIAN LITERATURE – A SOURCE OF MODERN
THINKING FOR YOUTH” organized by the Department of Oriental Languages,
Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous), Vijayawada during 21-22 February, 2017 and
and presented a paper entitled “INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUTH”
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
• The Department of Environmental Studies in association with IQAC celebrated “World
Environmental Day” on 6th June, 2016 and conducted the activity of planting trees on
the campus.
• The Department of Environmental Studies in association with IQAC and Jana Vignana
Vedika has organized a Guest lecture on “Environmental Pollution Effects and
Scientific Attempts” by Sri D.Satya Prasad and Sri J.Srinivas, Members, Jana Vignana
Vedika on 24th August, 2016.
DEPARTMENT OF TELUGU
• The Department of Telugu has organized “Telugu Language Day” on 29th August,
2016. On this occasion the Department of Telugu has organized Essay Writing and
Elocution Competitions to all the students.

Yoga for the second year students from 7th November,2016.
• The Department of Telugu in association with IQAC started a Certificate Course in
Journalism for the second year students from 7th November, 2016.
• The Departments of Telugu and Hindi in association with IQAC have celebrated
“Children’s Day” on 14th November, 2016 at Sirisha Rehabilitation Centre, Vuyyuru
and donated a Gas Stove and distributed Pens, Pencils, Note books, Sweets and Fruits to
the Mentally Challenged students.
DEPARTMENT OF HINDI
• The Department of Hindi in association with IQAC has organized a Guest Lecture on
“Rastra Bhasha Aur Rastra Ki Ekhatha” by Sri R. Parameswara Rao, Senior Manager,
Corporation Bank, Guntur on 14th September, 2016.

University on 8th October, 2015.

jointly organized a UGC sponsored Multi-Disciplinary National Seminar on “INDIA’S
DEMONITIZATION POLICY – PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES” on 23rd & 24th
of January, 2017. Prof.K.Nageswar,Former M.L.C and the Editor of Hans India acted as
a Key Note Speaker. Prof.S.Rama Krishna Rao, Vice-Chanceller, Krishna University,
Sri K.S.Lakshmana Rao, Former M.L.C and Sri G.Venkateswara Rao, C.O.O,K.C.P &
IC Ltd, Vuyyuru also and eminent personalities have participated in this National
Seminar.

• Sri T. Naga Prasada Rao,Head, Dept of Computer Science, Ms.R.Sowjanya, Lecturer in
Computer Science and Smt.T.Keerthi, Lecturer in Computer Science have participated
in a 3 Day Faculty Development Program on “Digital Imaging with Adobe Photoshop”
organized by the Dept of Computer Science, PB Siddhartha College of Arts & Science,
Vijayawada from 8th to 10th June, 2016.
• Sri T. Naga Prasada Rao has participated in a One Day National Workshop on “A.P
State Council of Higher Education” organized by Krishna University Machilipatnam
on 26th August 2016.
• The Department of Computer Science, in association with IQAC has arranged a guest
lecture on “Normalization Concepts” by Sri T.S. Ravi Kiran, HOD, PG Center
P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada on 21st September, 2016.
• Ms. S. Devi Sushma and V. Naga Malleswara Rao, Lecturers in Computer Science have
participated in A 2 Day Faculty Development Program on “TECHNOLOGY IN THE
CLASSROOM” organized by Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhnartha Mahila Kalasala,
Vijayawada during 4th & 5th November, 2016.
• The Department of Computer Science in association with IQAC has initiated an

Rs.10,000/- was collected from the students and donated a Water Purifier to to Rehabath
Children’s Home, Vuyyuru on 31st December, 2016.
• The Department of Computer Science in association with IQAC and the PG Department
of Computer Science has arranged a Guest Lecture on “Problem Solving Skills” by
Dr.M.Babu Reddy, Assistant Professor, Krishna University, Machilipatnam on 6th
January, 2017 for all final year B.Sc(Computers) and M.Sc(Computers) students.
• The Department of Computers in association with IQAC has arranged a Guest Lecture
on “How to Develop a Project” by Sri K.Anil, Software Developer, Vijayawada on 2nd
February, 2017 for all III year B.Sc(Cs) students.

• IQAC has arranged an Awareness Programme on Cashless Transactions by Smt.Rohini
Devi, M.R.O, Vuyyuru and Sri G.Sai Pradeep, Manager, ICICI Bank, Vuyyuru on 24th
November,2016 for all the degree students.
• IQAC in association with the Revenue Department has organized an Awareness Rally
on “Cashless Transactions and Digital Payments” to create awareness among the
students and the public in Vuyyuru town on 6th December, 2016. The Staff and the
students and Govt.Official, Mandal Magistrate Smt.Rohini Devi, M.R.O have also
participated in this rally and human chain.
• Academic Audit for the Academic Year 2016-17 has been done in the college by Sri
S.Jaganmohan Rao, Lecturer in Political Science, Govt Degree College, Avanigadda and
Dr.R.Kameswari, Lecturer in Physics, SRR&CVR Govt College, Vijaywada on 5th
January, 2017.
• Sri K.Satyanarayana, Principal and other staff members of college have felicitated Sri
Panda Siva Linga Prasad, M.L.A for Calgary Foothills, Canada on 13th January, 2017
as he was the former student of this institution and Siddhartha Academy.

THE EVIL EFFECTS OF THE CONSUMPTION OF CHEAP LIQUOR/ALCOHOL ON THE
PUBLIC
The Excise and Prohibition department, Vuyyuru in association with IQAC has arranged an
awareness campaign and discourse on the ‘EVIL EFFECTS OF THE CONSUMPTION OF
CHEAP LIQUOR ON THE PUBLIC’ for the students and staff of the college on 18-02-2017.

The Department has created awareness among the staff and the students of the college on the
evil effects of consumption of alcoholic products and also illicit Distillation of Liquor. The
effects of alcohol consumption include intoxication and dehydration and changes in the
metabolism of the liver and brain and alcoholism. Alcohol intoxication affects the brain,
causing slurred speech, clumsiness, and delayed reflexes. Alcohol stimulates insulin production,
which speeds up glucose metabolism and can result in low blood sugar, causing irritability and
possibly death for diabetics.
• IQAC has arranged a Brainstorming session for the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff
on “Preparation for NAAC-Peer Team Visit" by Dr. V.Srinivasa Rao, Lecturer,
Govt.Degree College, Rampachodavaram on 19th February, 2017.
• IQAC in association with Eco-Friendly Club has arranged an awareness camp on
“Paper Waste Management through Recycling Process” by Indian Trade
Corporation, Poranki on 23rd February, 2017 for the students and the staff of the college.

On 6th March 2017 the Peer team has visited all the departments including the supporting
services like NSS, NCC, NETWORK RESOURCE CENTRE, CAREER GUIDANCE CELL,
EXAMS WING,WOMEN’S HOSTEL,INDOOR STADIUM, HEALTH CENTRE, CANTEEN
and LIBRARY and the team is satisfied with the healthy academic ambience of the college and
the performance of the faculty which have been highlighted, followed by
students/alumni/parents /cultural meet. On 7th March 2017 the team members interacted with
the Principal and the IQAC Coordinator as well while writing the report and some suggestions
are given followed by EXIT meet.
Recommendations/Suggestions of the NAAC Peer Team for Quality Enhancement of the
Institution
• Efforts may be pursued to start short term programmes in the cutting edge areas which
may be of particular benefit in career relevance; networking with external agencies for
offering the above programmes be explored.
• Exploring the research potentials of the faculty, provision of consultancy services be
encouraged by establishing formal linkages with industries / institutions, appropriate
incentive for the concerned faculty in revenue sharing be formulated.
• The Management may take immediate steps to institute a Centre for Women
Empowerment and Prevention of Sexual Harassment.
• The ICT thrust in teaching / learning may be strengthened / expanded further.
• Adequate thrust may be given in faculty development activities, particularly in latest
pedagogy (Major/Minor Research Projects) and e-content preparation.
• The Library must have latest current journals in all disciplines.
• Laboratory Instruments may be enhanced for science departments.
• Modernized GYM is required for students.
Our College is Re-accredited with Grade “A” by NAAC, Bengaluru on 27th March,
2017 with CGPA 3.05/4.00.
