Day 1

• Find three others to be on your team, they do not have to be your table partners

• Sit with your team and we will watch the “physics of bowling” video—you may want to take notes

• On a piece of butcher block paper sketch all of the physics that right now you think would be involved in being the ultimate bowler

Day 2• Watch video #2 on Bowling, this time I highly suggest taking

notes• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsnb-THHtc4• Now, go back to your model and see what things you can

add• Now grab a packet on the physics of bowling– what

equations do you need? What can you add to your model.• Now focus on one variable, what are you going to measure

and change when you get to the alley. What tools do you need. Write out your investigation on your diagram

Day 3 Bowling

• Make sure you have $2.50, socks and good footwear for walking—everybody is walking!!

• Make sure you have the equations you need for your investigation and anything you need to measure (timers, rulers?) and something to record.

• Remember that the investigation is more important than completing your game.

• Have fun!

Day 4 Post Bowling

• Meet with your partners and discuss what happened. Did what you changed improve your game? What was the physics you used.

• Compile your procedure, equations and data and complete an experimental report, you will be reporting out to your classmates.

• Go back to your model, how would you change it? Make any changes
