What’s Your Story

• We are all sinners and are in need of Christ• In the end, God called his son home

Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst (1 Tim 1:15)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Rom 3: 23-24)

• I don’t know the Bible well enough and cannot defend it

• My friends won’t want to hang around me anymore• Ah, they probably already have a church• I don’t want to create an uncomfortable situation• I don’t want to probe into their personal life• It’s none of my business• I’m not brave enough to start the discussion

Methods

• My friends won’t want to hang around me anymore–Friendship is built upon a mutual trust & a relationship–Take advantage of the love you have for them and communicate

gently–They have 2 options of response

1.      Listen and continue to be your friend2.      Listen, stop hanging out with you In the end, they have heard the gift of salvation and someday may come back to you

Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of truth (2 Tim 2:25)

about their church background

I don’t want to probe into their personal life Do you really know their needs? They may want you to probe – take the initiativeFind something in common with the person before you ask

Keep your head in all situations, endure hardships, do the work of an evangelist (2 Tim 4:5)

Next Steps

So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, but join with me in the suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. (2 Timothy 1:8-9)
