I. Man’s Final Test - Satan Released from Prison – Rev. 20:7-10

7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. 9 Their number is like the sand of the sea. They marched across the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire, where the beast and the false prophet are.

E. Six Ways God Uses Satan – Eph. 6:12

12 We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the powers, the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

1. Because God can do no evil He uses Satan to test mankind (Job 1)

2. Satan is allowed freedom so that the power of the Gospel is made even more glorious in overcoming the enemy - “so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God” (Acts 26:18)

3. Satan is allowed freedom for God to judge unrepentant men, “you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 5:5)

4. Satan is allowed freedom for man to better grasp the power of God’s grace through the gospel, “God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will” (2 Timothy 2:25-26)

5. Satan has freedom so believers will grow in their faith by resisting him. “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. (James 4:7)

6. Satan is allowed freedom so God will be made even more glorious on judgment day when Satan is vanquished and cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:10)

The Lord will allow Satan, the “snake” of Genesis 3, back into the garden to offer the human race independence from God in order to reveal their hearts.

F. Satan’s Evil Nature Exposed

II. Purpose of the Test

God allows our circumstances to reveal the conditions of man’s heart

1. Even under the ideal circumstances of a perfect government, perfect environment and world-wide peace, man is restless, unfulfilled and demands more freedom

Satan will try to make you think that God is incapable of helping you in your situation. This situation is too hard for God. It just can’t be resolved. Satan can lie all he wants but God can achieve the impossible with ease! He is faithful.

2. The quality of man’s environment adds nothing to the emptiness of man’s heart without Jesus Christ – Phil. 4:11

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances I find myself in.

3. Riches and better earthly conditions tend to produce pride by making man proud of his accomplishments – Tower of Babel – Gen. 11

4. Cleaning up earth is no benefit to cleaning up man’s heart by repentance

5. Man’s sinful nature makes him vulnerable to Satan’s deceptive schemes!

III. Satan’s Final War

A. Satan’s deception triggers world-wide rebellion – Rev. 20:8-9

Satan will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. 9 They’re number is like the sand of the sea.

1. Proof children are born in the Millennium

If being in the Millennial Kingdom doesn’t guarantee the salvation of our children, how much more effort should parenting take today!

IV. The End of the World

A. Fire falls from heaven – Rev. 20:9 (Sodom/Gomorrah: 2 Pet.2:6; Jude 7)

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

C. Heavens and earth destroyed by fire

Just as the demons entice the world’s armies into the battle of Armageddon (Rev. 16:13,14), Satan will entice them into a suicidal assault against Christ and His people.

John watched the contaminated universe dissolve before his eyes! The created world is promptly uncreated and goes out of existence!

D. How old is planet earth? (2 Peter 3:8) Young earth = 6000 years

with the Lord one day is as a 1000 years, and 1000 years as one day

E. Christ holds the world intact with fixed laws – Jer. 33:25; Col. 1:17; 2 Peter 3:7

7 The heavens and earth are now held in store (preserved) by the word (of God), are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

G. Stop the Insanity - “Worshipping the creation more than the creator” – Rom. 1:25

- The Green New Deal - Says we only have 12 years! - Global warming – Satanic, end-time deception - Mayor Pete: “Climate change, a national emergency. The absence of a wall is not.”

Pete claims we are to assume that climate change is a national emergency! This lunacy might be obvious to many, but these next-generation leaders will effect great change to this country as they are led by socialist ideology instead of Judeo-Christian values.



V. World Destroyed by Nuclear Fire – 2 Peter 3:10-13

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements (Atoms = Protons, Neutrons, Electrons) will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (Not a renewed universe but a brand new one)

A. The “heavens” refer to the physical universe. The “great noise” describes a whistling or crackling sound as of objects consumed by flames

1. God will incinerate the universe in an atomic reaction that disintegrates all matter

Heb. 12:29 - for our "God is a consuming fire"

In 6 days God created the universe out of nothing (Heb. 11:3) and after the Millennial Kingdom, God will dissolve the earth into nothing

2. The “elements” (vs. 10 & 12) are the atomic components which make up all matter

The atoms, neutrons, protons and electrons will disintegrate

VI. Satan Sentenced – Rev. 20:10

10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophet are. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

A. Antichrist, False Prophet still in the Lake of Fire – 1000 years later – Rev. 19:20

A. The Scene: Total blackness of outer space with no luminaries except a WHITE THRONE and beyond the WHITE THRONE a vast sea of fire and smoke

The judgment takes place in the indescribable void between the end of the present universe (vs.11) & the creation of the new heaven and earth (21:1)

And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hell delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

E. Hard to comprehend: When an unbeliever dies, he never sees the world again!

F. Imagine “Standing before God” at the uncompromising bar of divine justice - vs. 12a

G. “The books were opened” (vs. 12b) The “books” contain the recording of every thought, word & deed that provides the evidence for man’s condemnation

A river of fire was flowing (from the throne), coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands served him (Church-age saints); 10,000 times 10,000 stood before him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.

Warnings = “Judged by our works” - Eccl. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:17; Rev. 22:12

Implies degrees of punishment in Lake of Fire: Mt. 10:14-15; 11:23-24; Mk. 12:38-40; Lk. 12:47-48; Heb. 10:29

I. “Book of Life” (vs. 12, 15) A divine journal records the names of all the redeemed. One glance into the Book of Life is all it takes to determine man’s final fate!

J. “Cast into the lake of fire” - Rev. 14:11

The smoke of their torment ascends forever; they have no rest day or night

K. “This is the second death” (vs. 14) First death = physical death. The “second death” is when God pronounces man’s final spiritual death and permanent separation from God

Separation from the Father is what Christ experienced for us on the cross when He cried, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Math. 27:46) Christ suffered this separation so man wouldn’t have to face the “second death.”

When Jesus became our sin substitute, He was experiencing the agony of spiritual death and separation from His Father. In this unfathomable mystery, He took our sins on Himself and felt the spiritual agony of separation from His Father. Thank you Lord Jesus!

Christ’s Role After the Millennium - 1 Cor. 15:24-28

24 Then the end will come, when Christ hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

1. The Lord will reign until He has put all enemies under His feet!

2. The last enemy to be destroyed is death – Rev. 20:14

3. When the Lord has done this, then the Son Himself will be made subject to the Father, who put everything under Him, so that God may be all in all (As before creation).

4. Christ will continue to rule because His reign is eternal (Rev. 11:15) but He will reign in His former, full and glorious place within the Trinity, subject to God (vs. 28) as before creation.

5. In the culmination of world history, after Christ has taken over the restored world for His Father and reigned for 1000 years, all things will be returned to the way they were designed by God to be - in the sinless glory of the new heavens and new earth (Rev. 21-22) for eternity.
