Javier Rey is Sales VP of Alcatel-Lucent for the Caribbean& Latin America (CALA) region, in charge of thecompany’s operations in Mexico, Central America andthe Caribbean. In addition, Javier leads the Technical
Sales and CTO organization for Caribbean and Latin America and more recentlythe development of new strategy and go to market redefinition for the region toincrease customer and market diversification. Previously, Javier was the commercialleader and general manager for Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, where he ledthe consolidation and expansion of the company business after the merger ofAlcatel and Lucent Technologies in 2006. Javier has more than 20 years ofexperience in the industry, having started as Operations Director in charge ofengineering, planning and operations for CATV operators in Venezuela. From 1998to 2004, he held management roles in telecommunications during the deploymentof fixed and mobile communication networks in Venezuela and Colombia. From2004 to 2008 he was general manager of Lucent Technologies and then Alcatel-Lucent in the Andean region. He was also president of the Venezuelan Chamberof Telecommunications Enterprises.
