· URLS will utilize “friendly names”· Core code layer will be based on MSFT MVC Framework· Storage will occur in Amazon S3 with Cloudfront for scalability· Standards compliant HTML and CSS but not specifically HTML5 or CSS3 due to cross browser limitations· Focus on modern browser platforms – IE8/9, Chrome, Firefox, Safari· Assumes use of a third party video asset management tool – Brightcove, etc.· Assume use of a third party Ad Server – Google Double Click for Publishers, etc.· Assumes use of a third party newsletter management tool – iContact, Mail Chimp, etc.· Assumes a defined third party tool with integration points for accessing “schedule” data and related feeds – Broadview, SIMS, etc.· Assumes integration with Google Analytics· No Flash – jQuery instead· POLLS – need to work like normal on page templates but we also need to be able to associate them with a unique article category, sub category,

13. Badge Module-Flexible HTML based badges that can be created and managed by the content team.-Contains HTML, images, CSS

14. Customizable Footer Links-Categorized grouping of manual links-Can link internal or external as necessary-Content team will define a “category” and links will exist in that category.

15. SEO Text Block-Rich text content block to describe the web property and provide SEO keyword density across all page-Includes optional links to Twitter and Facebook if those pages exist.

16. Corporate Links-Standard links to Contact Us, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and FAQ pages.-If global corporate versions of these pages exist externally these links can point external.-Includes copyright notice – year will auto update based on calendar on server

1. Header and Footer Template-User should have access to a basic template with just a header and footer with the ability to add Rich Text areas in the middle area and define their CSS on an ad-hoc basis. They may use these for microsites, etc.

2. Header, Footer, Sidebar-Standard template to be used most of the time

3. Blank Template-No header or footer present-Ability for user to create their own totally branded or sponsored skin using HTML and CSS. May be used for special purpose landing pages.-User should be able to add Rich Text areas as needed.-Template should still include analytics code, etc.

1. jQuery Carousel Slideshow-jQuery based slideshow that allows users to highlight content across the site. -Includes large image, thumbnail, alt tag, and a link.-Can link to anything-Slideshow will slide in a never-ending loop and the thumbnails will be highlighted to indicate which slide you are in the “pagination”-Clicking the arrows at either side of the thumbnails moves them back and forth

Featured Content Module-Ability for users to editorialized content that is published on the site-Through a search/select UI in Agility the user may select published content and the module will pull through the image, title, description.-If they select more than 2 the features will stack in rows of 2x2-User needs ability to sort and order and potentially schedule these aggressively.-USER SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO OVERRIDE AND MANUALLY CREATE A FEATURED ITEM IF NECESSARY.

What’s Fresh Module- By default this list pulls the latest published content and pulls through the thumbnail, title, description-User should have the option to use a search/select UI to override and manually select content items to populate the list.-Option to be fully automated or manually editorialized.-If no editorial options are selected then we show the most recent article content

All features described on this page are in the context of a (sub)section.

If no results are returned the article list is replaced with a “No content found” message-The filter by keywords pulldown includes all keywords that are associated with the content in the category. Keyword Listing acts almost identically to the Section Listing page except it is pre-filtered by a keyword and does not care what category or section article belong to.

1. If no results are returned the article list is replaced with a “No content found” message-The filter by keywords pulldown includes all keywords that are active in the system and pre-populates to the keyword that has been linked to via the querystring.-Should be easy to link to this page filtered with a querystring

STANDARD COMMENT MODULE – DOCUMENTED SEPARATELY

** Articles should have a generic URL that is disconnected from categories/sub categories so they can belong to any and all.

1. Article Title-May be very long and needs to accommodate for wrapping as necessary

2. Comments Link-Displays total number of comments on the article. Clicking on link anchors down to comments portion of the page

3. Ratings-UGC ratings-Clicking on a “star” icon will associate that rating with the article-By default the “star” icons are greyed out until user adds their rating-Aggregate ratings are used on other pages/modules to display overall rating on the article.

Article Body-In the case of text based article the body is basically a totally flexible rich text area**WOULD BE IDEAL TO HAVE A CONFIGURABLE WAY OF SPLITTING ARTICLES INTO MULTIPLE PAGES IN ORDER TO DRIVE MORE PAY VIEWS. CONTENT TEAM MAY NEED TO ADD A DELIMITER TO FORCE PAGINATION. – DISCUSSION POINT

5. Related Articles-Ability for user to search/select other articles to highlight as “related”-**USER SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE OPTION TO SET A TAG AND HAVE THAT PULL IN RELATED ARTICLES. IF TAG IS ENABLED THE CURRENT ARTICLE SHOULD BE EXCLUDED.-If no related articles are selected then the module hides

6. Article Meta Data-Includes Author name and publish date-Also includes all category and sections. Can have multiple listed as an article can live in multiple categories/sections-Displays all keywords associated with the article. Clicking on a keyword takes user to the keyword listing page.

**Photo Gallery articles inherit all the base properties of a text based article. IA describes gallery specific features

1. Gallery Description-Each gallery will have a global description of the gallery which is basically a rich text area. -Appears above all images all the time

2. High Res Gallery Image-Can do portrait or landscape images-Image includes alt tags-Clicking on arrows to the side of the high res image will move user to prev/next image in the list with a full page reload

3. Image Description-Each image has an optional title and body text to describe the current image-Description can be used to populate the ALT tag for the image

4. Thumbnails-Matrix of thumbnails for the entire gallery-Current image is highlighted to give user context of where they are in the overall gallery-Clicking on a thumbnail will reload the page with a querystring in order to maintain pageviews

2. Flexible Rich Text HTML area for promotional content.

3. Blog entries will show the title, the writer (clicking on link will take you to a listing of all articles by that writer), category of the article (link), total comments(link to comments on the article), and total number of “likes” for the article.- Blog posts should be standard flexible HTML areas. Listing page will show the blog excerpt text. “Read More…” will link to the full blog article page.- Excerpt may contain embedded content like a YouTube video if necessary.

4. Standard blog pagination (newer/older) as the list is going to get really long.

5. All blog posts will be “tagged”. Clicking on a tag will take the user to a blog listing page of article that have that tag.-Standard tag cloud functionality for the top tags

6. Categories- Module will list all categories that blog content has been associated with. Clicking on a category name will take you to a listing page for just that category.

NOTE – this page will need to work for the following scenarios:

1. All blog listings (default)2. Category listing3. Author listing4. Tag listing

Same look and feel and function, just filtered by the above.

7. Archives Listing-Module will list months that contain blog entries allowing user to filter to a specific month

3. Email Template -Basic text email-can append a static string or phrase to subject + post title. String is set once and sent on all emails. (eg. blog name)-Body includes excerpt and link to blog post-Unsubscribe link links back to site where the user is unsubscribed from the UGC list.-Unsub pages needs a thank you message as well as be smart enough to handle errors (eg. this email is not in the list, UGC was down, etc.)

PROCESS-When we publish a blog post we need to update the input form with a check box (defaulted to YES) that determines if we send an update to everyone who has subscribed.-They may have posts they are back posting that they do not want to spam people with so the option to not send the email is important.-Should kick off a process for emailing the template to the list.

1. Comments and threads- Standard commenting. Comment text (stripped of illegal HTML) will appear on the page. Oldest comments at the top, newest at the bottom. Will display the commenters name plus the date and time the comment was published. Once the list gets to a configured length, the comments will be paginated.-Name, email, comment are required if not logged in with Facebook.-Clicking on the “reply to this comment” will enabled a threaded response to the comment. Screen will ease down to the comment form and allow input. MAX 5 level thread and each thread level is indented slightly

2. Comment Input-By default the comment UI should be super clean and uncluttered.-Clicking on submit opens later below the comment box to allow users options for commenting with an “identity attached”-TABS ON LAYER BELOW ARE A CONFIGURATION VALUE AND CAN BE TURNED ON /OFF IN THE MODULE

3.Guest-If user has not already logged in with any other service, Guest is the default-User may optionally enter a name, email, web address.-If left blank the comment is submitted anonymously

4. Site Login-If user selects site login AND they are not already logged in they are presented with a login field (username/email and password)-They must enter their credentials before commenting-If user clicks forgot password they are taken to the forgot password page-If user does not have an account they can click on create account link-IF USER GOES DOWN FORGOT PASSWORD OR CREATE ACCOUNT PATH THEY NEED A SIMPLE WAY TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO THIS COMMENT BOX. (Basic link on “thank you message” - “Return to complete your comment”))

IF A USER IS LOGGED IN TO MULTIPLE SERVICES THE DEFAULT VIEW TO SHOW WILL BE THE ITEM AT THE TOP MOST LOCATION ON THE TABBED LIST. IN THIS EXAMPLE THAT WOULD BE SITE LOGIN.

**If user is a contributor this is their landing page once logged in. If user is NOT a contributor they do not see this “panel” and are shown the “About You” panel.

1. User Avatar and Name-Once logged in, user name and avatar displayed.-If no avatar set we use the default avatar image placeholder from the shared content list already in place.

2. Navigation-User has ability to look at their contributions listing, their “about” profile information, and update their password if they choose.-Consistent across the entire section.

3. Optional Message-Standard title + rich text area-Will contain an optional message to contributors.-If not populated it is hidden-NEED 2 VERSIONS OF THIS. One for a pre-approved contributor and the other for non-pre-approved.

4. Contributions Listing-List of all contributions made by the logged in user-Sorted based on most recent contribution at the top-Title clicks to the “edit” view-Text blurb should be pulled form the excerpt of the contribution. If no excerpt exists then show first 250 characters of the body text of the article with a “…”-Clicking edit link takes user to editable version-Clicking DELETE link should prompt an “are you sure” alert box and if the user clicks ok, the contribution is deleted.-Status show current status of contribution (Published + date it was published, Awaiting Approval, Others?)-If there are no items in the contributor list we need a simple message saying “You have no contributions at this this time..” type message

5. Submit New Contribution Button-Clicking takes user to the new contribution entry page.

6. Basic Pagination – already exists in Sol Package.

7. Pre-Approved Users-Users who are pre-approved do not have their contributions go through moderation and are auto published to the site.-If pre-approved they will see a small text based message stating the fact.

8. Confirmation Message on Contribution Submit and ReSubmit-Once the user has submitted or resubmitted a contribution they are brought back to the landing page with a message displayed saying things were successful.-Clicking “X” will dismiss the message

SPECIAL NOTE – NEED TO ARCHITECT THE WORKFLOW FOR DELETES OF CONTRIBUTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED. HOW IS THIS HANDLED? DOES MODERATOR APPROVE THE DELETE?

1. Editable Version-Utilizes the same form as the add a new contribution except it is pre-populated with their content.-Same rules and logic as the submit new form.

2. Article Image (edit version)-Displays the path/name of the image associated with the contribution-Clicking on the linked name opens the image in a new window (like in Agility)-Clicking on the “X” will remove the image and reset the element to the empty state. (Should look and work like the default add new form element)-If no image is added it should simple default to the empty state-Preview thumbnails of the uploaded images will appear to the right of the browse element.

3. Buttons-User has ability to delete their contribution. If they click delete they should get a confirmation alert. If they click OK, their contribution is deleted and they should be brought back to the Contribution Landing Page.-Clicking Save and Resubmit alerts the moderator (draft mode?). If contributor is pre-approved their content is simply republished on the site without the need for moderation

4. Additional Information-Basic status and modified information to allow user to see the current status as well as who and when things were last modified.

5. Communication Center-Includes widget title and blurb-Text area for entering a new comment (contributor or moderator)-Add Comment appends the comment below the form immediately.-Comments include the user name of the person who added the comment, date, time, and body message.
