• The International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-

various national standards organizations.
• Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland

Committees including ISO/TC 34.

This is a mandatory mark for all locally manufactured products. Products with the
Diamond Mark of Quality automatically qualify for the Standardization mark

It is a voluntary (optional) mark of quality based on excellent performance of the products
and is superior to all the other quality marks

Food fortification is the addition of one or more vitamin and/or mineral to a food (usually
referred to as food vehicle to correct or prevent a demonstrated micro-nutrient deficiency.

• Discussions are Ongoing in Search for National Mechanism for Compliance for to KS 1758 Part 1 & 2 ( Flowers and Ornamentals and Fruits & Vegetables) to Ensure access to Export Market.
• Between KEBS and KHC ( Umbrella body for FPEAK & KFC).
• Compliance to KS 1758 will lead to Product Certification and award of Standardization Mark.
