Challenges / Issues

Organisational level: Lack of Manpower and lengthy official procedures

Stakeholder cooperation: Excellent cooperation

Household/ farmer/ community level: Presently No Issues encountered (newer venture 6 months)

Animal production: Import threat from outside the district is a major challenge, as the cost of production is a bit higher (Rs. 70.33). All the inputs are imported from outside the state.

Marketing : Middle man dominated.

Page 14: AHP services in Arunachal Pradesh

Lessons learnt:

• Approach: Participatory with institutional linkages gives better sustainability of the ventures.

• Animal production: Higher input cost (esp. feed and chicks), exploring the use of central hatchery and procuring inputs in bulk and distribution.

• Marketing: Own market channel will lead more benefits
