A target of 90% has been set for March 2015.

Alberta Health, in collaboration with Alberta Health Services established performance targets for emergency department length of stay as well as other performance metrics. These were established inNovember 2010 and are progressively more challenging in each of the five years leading to 2014/15. The 2014/15 targets, deliberately set to be very ambitious are reflective of national benchmarks (orbetter) established by Canadian organizations (e.g., Canadian Institute of Health Information), First Ministers Conferences on Health Care, or clinical consultation on best practice.
