page 8 Advance Healing Summer 15 F elix Hernandez made his major league debut in 2005 and has been on the mound for the Seattle Mariners ever since stepping onto the field in a Mariner’s uniform. Mr. Hernandez has six All-Star appearances, pitched the 23 rd Perfect Game in Major League history against the Tampa Bay Rays on August 15, 2012 and was selected as the CY Young winner in the American League for the 2010 season. Most recently on May 10, 2015, Felix recorded his 2,000 strike-out and became the fourth youngest pitcher ever to complete this feat. “King Felix” Hernandez and his agent, Scott Pucino, approached Kinesio to collaborate about working together on a product endorsement deal about two years ago. Kinesio and the Seattle Mariner franchise continue to have a strong relationship because Mr. Rick Griffin, the Senior Director of Athletic Training, and Dr. Kenzo Kase, President and Founder of Kinesio Holding Corporation, have been good friends and partners for years. The Kinesio Taping ® Method was already being utilized in the training room before Felix joined the team in 2005 and he has been a huge fan ever since trying the tape for the first time. Kinesio has had top professional athletes from all over the world endorse the Kinesio Taping ® Method, but this is the first contractual agreement we have had with a North American athlete. From the Kentucky Derby to the US OPEN Golf Championships to past Olympics, Kinesio has had athletes wearing the tape on their own accord, which is always a great endorsement for Kinesio.
