PREAMBLE 

All types of industries and organizations like automobile,

 public sector units, research organizations, DRDO, ISRO

and other institutions are working on world class materials

and manufacturing technology. Cost reduction in

manufacturing with minimum usage of material is the vital

area in manufacturing. In today’s business environment, it is

no longer good enough to be better than the competition

down the street or in the local marketplace. Each company

must strive to meet and beat the best from anywhere in the

world. A business enterprise can no longer think that failure

to make it in world markets will not affect business in local

markets. The very opportunity to compete in world markets

carries with it the explicit threat that the same opposition

experienced overseas can indeed knock the company out of

its local markets. The response to this challenge of global

competition is through the ideal of World Class

Manufacturing.

ELIGIBILITY  

The course is open to the Engineering faculties

 belonging to Mechanical and Production Engineering

departments of AICTE recognized Institutions.

Admission will be offered subject to the availability based

on the AICTE guidelines.

REGISTRATION 

The registration is free for faculty from AICTE

approved Institutions. Participants are requested to fill the

registration form and submit it to the address mentioned.

Registration will be confirmed only after receiving the

duly signed registration form by sponsoring authority.

Selection will be based on first come first served basis,

since registration is limited to 50. Scanned copy of filled

registration form can be sent to aictefdp@rmkcet.ac.in

ABOUT THE COLLEGE 

R.M.K. College of Engineering and

Technology, Puduvoyal, Thiruvallur District

was established in the year 2008 under the

flagship of Lakshmikanthammal Trust. Thecollege is located at Puduvoyal village at a

distance of about 33 km from Chennai on the

Chennai-Vijayawada National Highway (NH

5).  It is offering five UG programs in various

 branches of Engineering & Technology. The

institution is an ISO 9001-2008 certified

institution approved by All India Council for

Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to

Anna University Chennai. The College as far

as academic results are concerned, consistently

stands one among the top 10 colleges among

577 Engineering colleges across the state.

The college is affiliated to Anna University

and is certified under ISO 9001:2008 by

TUVNORD.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering

was started in the year 2010. In the subsequent

year, the intake was increased to 120. The

Department has latest version equipments

catering to the needs of both academic and

industry. The worth of the equipments alone

cost around Rs. 2.2 crores. Thermal lab,Manufacturing Technology lab and

CAD/CAM laboratories are well equipped

with research facilities. The Department has

highly qualified and dedicated faculty

members with rich experience in academic and

industry.
