GLOBAL CITIZEN

The Global Citizen program is a volunteer project for 6 to 8 weeks. Through this

program you get the chance to help others in an international community while

developing your entrepreneurial- and leadership skills. The Global Citizen program

expands your cultural awareness and allows you to see the world in a new light. Go to

for example Thailand, Brazil, Indonesia, or one of our other 124 countries. Choose

your own project from the three pillars: Go Teach, Make Aware, or Be an

Entrepreneur.

Go Teach

Educate children and young people to broaden their horizon and inspire a future

generation. You could for example provide English and cultural lessons in a creative

and fun way, by using sports, music and other creative events in Taiwan.

Make Aware

Create awareness among people about relevant topics such as the environment and

global health. Go for example to Indonesia to teach children in a Global Holiday Camp

about the importance of a clean and healthy environment and healthy lifestyles.

Be an Entrepreneur

Work with entrepreneurs in developing countries to facilitate and support the

development of local communities. Do an entrepreneurial project in for example The

Philippines, by helping poor communities in establishing their own business. Help them

to maximize their potentials, to utilize their ideas and to create impact in their society.

GLOBAL TALENT The Global Talent Program provides you with an international internship in a host organization for 3 to 18 months. This program provides a great opportunity to gain cross-cultural experience, both in a professional and a social manner. Throughout the entire program, supervision and evaluation will be provided. Our database contains over 1000 internships all over the world, mainly in the fields of marketing, business and economics, and teaching. The job requires special expertise and skills, therefore you should have earned a minimum of 120 ECTs to participate in this program.

Testimonial – Camiel de Wert

Project Coordinator Lideke Wery Educational Institute, Sri Lanka

“As a project coordinator I was involved in a variety of activities, differing from management

of the school to teaching students and making the budget of the institute. Both the contact

with my students and the staff members gave me great insights in the local culture. I can

recommend taking this internship to anyone who feels a great degree of responsibility over

what they do, and who are willing to really take the time to adapt to another culture. You will

get the opportunity to make a difference and you will learn a lot of skills that may help you in

your further career.”

SBE Student?

You can apply to receive (extra) curricular credits for your internship.

Bachelor Students can do one curricular internship with a duration of 6 to 14

weeks, or one extra-curricular internship with a duration of 8 to 26 weeks.

THE EXPERIENCE

Cultural Immersion

The duration of an AIESEC Exchange is longer than the average tourist

visits. For weeks or even months, you will live in a completely different

culture you’ve never experienced before. It is a great platform to meet

and travel with fellow interns from different countries. By staying in a

host family and working in the local community, you will get to know the

local people and even develop lifelong friendships. The AIESEC

committee abroad will help you getting used to the local habits and

understanding various cultural differences.

Social Impact Your internship/project will involve you in an issue-based project in

which you will co-create the solution with the support of a partner entity

and other international interns. By organizing events and holding

discussions and workshops you will have an impact on the issue you

are working on in your society. You will exchange your knowledge and

skills, but develop yourself by the expertise of the local people you work

with.

Support You will experience the collaborative support system provided by

AIESEC throughout the entire exchange program. AIESEC Maastricht

will guide you finding the project you are looking for, and prepare you

for your experience by individual coaching and a preparation seminar.

You will set personal goals to achieve the leadership experience that

AIESEC aims to provide. The AIESEC Committee abroad will assist you

during your stay with any issues and/or challenges you may face.
