WELCOME ! AIESEC UNS is the only AIESEC chapter

located in Solo, Central Java, Indonesia.

And here you can find the answer to the questions which

frequently asked about AIESEC.

Do I have to be a member of AIESEC UNS to go on an AIESEC Exchange

program?

No. Any University student (undergraduate or graduate) or recent graduate

(within two years) can go on an AIESEC exchange and internship program.

AIESEC members work to facilitate this exchange process.

How does AIESEC exchange program differ from other providers of

exchange?

AIESEC does not define itself as provider of exchange only. Rather, AIESEC

offers you many different opportunities to discover and develop your potential.

Although exchange program is an essential part of the experience you can gain in

AIESEC, it is closely linked to other experiences rather than separated from them.

Throughout the program, you will meet and connect with AIESECers from around

the world, participate in local AIESEC conferences, and develop yourself through

challenges you face during your exchange. As our program is aimed at personal

development through connecting with communities and AIESEC chapters abroad,

Where can I go on exchange?

AIESEC has a global network which expands across 124 countries

However, we will recommend countries and internships that have previously

provided quality experiences for students from UNS. These countries include

Russia, Poland, India, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Rumania, Malaysia and many

more. Conversely, there are several countries we do NOT recommend for your

own safety.

Will I receive a salary during my exchange program?

For our Global Talent Program you will receive a salary depends on the contract

whilst for our Global Youth Ambassador Program participants would generally

have food and accommodation covered by the hosting entity.

What kind of contract will I have to sign?

After passing through selection you will be offered a place in one of our exchange

program. Here you will be given a copy of your exchange contract which you will

have time to review and return. There won’t be any horrible surprises, however if

you would like to view a copy before this feel free to ask for one during selection.

Who will help me in my host country?

All the exchange program are based on a local committee nearby, which is there to

help you during your internship. More concretely, the members of this hosting

local committee organize your accommodation, pick you up from the airport /

station, show you around in the city and accompany you to work on your first day.

In addition, they will integrate you into their activities, organize events for you and

the other interns and help you get to know the people and culture of your host

country. If there should be any problems, there will always be someone to help

you. We will keep in contact with you and support you in every possible way.

Can I look at your exchange pool/ database before paying the fee and

participating in the AIESEC Exchange Program?

Unfortunately our database is effectively only for people who sign the contract and

pay the administration fee, we cannot allow you to access the database beforehand.

If you are however interested to know what type of exchange program we have

specifically, you can contact our friendly exchange team and they will be happy to

pull some sample off the system to let you have a look at. In addition, we also have

many Exchange Participant returnee that have been on our program, and are more

than happy to chat to you!

This is to ensure that people do not try and cheat the system and organise their own

internships outside of AIESEC. This can reflect poorly on AIESEC as an

organisation.

Do I have to be fluent in English to participate?

Depending on the program you are entering and the specific Internship you take

there can be a requirement for fluency in English. As an example many of the

Internships in our Global Talent Program will require you to work in English and

so for this program we will require candidates to be fluent. For our Global Youth

Ambassador Program program we are more flexible on this as it is a very good

opportunity to Improve your English or other foreign language skills. We will not

require you to pass a TOEFL or IELTS.

Will I be by myself?

It depends on which internship you choose - some have up to 10 interns from all

over the world working on the one project, whilst others will have only one

position available. If you're worried about being alone, don't stress! The local

AIESEC chapter in your host city will always be around to help you out if you

need advice or want some buddies to hang out with.

Can I go with a friend?

Yes if you lucky. But due to the limited number of participant for each program, it

is hard to match you to the same program as your friend. AIESEC encourages that

those who are going on exchange with us, do so individually. Our programs are

focused on self development and you will only get the most of this experience if

you are outside of your comfort zone! If you are worried about being alone,

chances are you'll be working with participants from all around the world, as well

as AIESECers in that city!

Will AIESEC cover my airfare and visa?

No, AIESEC does not cover airfare and visa so it is recommended that you

research the costs whilst you are being matched to a program.

Does AIESEC cover on-site accommodation?

It is the responsibility of AIESEC to arrange accommodation for every exchange

participant. Home stays, apartments, and whether or not the intern has to pay for

housing depends on the specific internship program. Generally, we will match you

to an exchange program that provides accommodation and it will either cost very

little or nothing at all.
