Update Database
Keep your AIM database current with database file updates. To update your data in AIM
you will follow 2 steps. (1) Download current files(s) and (2) Import the current file(s).
AIM database files can be obtained several ways.
1.) Download database file(s) directly from AIM’s Help menu. Select Download
Database Files. Your files will download to a default directory C:\Program
Files\AIM\AlpopDataFiles. When the downloads are complete you will get the
message File Downloads Complete. Continue with Import Instructions.
PLEASE NOTE: You must have internet access on the computer to download
files through AIM help and have registered the software with the Post Officer’s
Portal user name and password. If you have AIM on a computer without internet
access or have registered AIM with a manual license, you will choose one of the
options 2-3:
2.) Download files from the Officer’s Portal in the Downloads section Get Post
Database. Save the file to a location where you will be able to relocate it. If AIM
is installed on a computer without internet access, save the data file(s) to a CD,
Flash Drive or other medium to take to your other computer. Download
instructions are provided in the Download’s section of the portal.
3.) Request files from national headquarters: Request database file(s) to be mailed on
a CD or e-mailed.
When requesting files from National, the post will be billed $5 plus actual shipping for a
CD. E-mailed files are no additional charge. When requesting files, please include Post
Number, Department, file types (SAL, LGN), mailing address or e-mail address, contact
name and phone number.
