Define the problem to be solved. Come up with alternatives. Positives and negatives for each option. Choose the best option. Design a plan to carry out the decision. Evaluate the decision.

Includes making a clear goal statement that defines a realistic goal, a plan for reaching the goal, and a reward for when the goal is reached.

Behavior Change Strategies

Stimulus control- Get rid of or change the environment cues that cause you to do the unwanted behavior.

Consciousness raising- Gather info about problems that can occur from the behavior.

Reinforcement reward- Reward yourself for progress on changing the behavior

Behavior Change Strategies

Recruit a partner- Have someone you can call who understands and can help you.

Identify behaviors that coexist- By eliminating one you can eliminate another.
