IMPACT
The shortage of newly-qualified engineersglobally is a major issue for the automotive
industry. In 1998, Jaguar Land Rover launched its‘Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers’ (ITE) school
STEM education programme to promoteengineering/manufacturing careers to young
people across the UK.
2.9 million young peopleengaged to date
The programme includes Education Centres, offering classroomactivities and tours to reinforce learning in a real-world environmentand STEM Challenge competitions where students design, build and
race vehicles, emulating genuine engineering processes. Keyelements are now being rolled out to schools globally.
