Everyone can achieve. Everyone can learn. Everyone belongs.
Hello,
As part of our series of safety weeks, we’re exploring how
people overcome challenges within their everyday lives. An
element of this will be looking at disabilities and people who
are 'the same but different’.
Our aim is for children to gain a wider understanding of a
range of challenges that people face in their lives, how they
overcome them and achieve. We’ll be looking at inspirational
figures who have achieved great things in spite of living with
a disability or a challenge: athletes, actors, musicians,
artists, people in business...
It will be a week where we will all learn something about the
lives of others who are 'the same but different’ to
ourselves and increase our empathy for others.
Have a good weekend and see you next week.

Book of the week
The Book of the Week - Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly
Truth by Jeff Kinney.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is very popular with all the
children here at Air Balloon Hill Primary.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth is the massively
funny fifth title in the highly-illustrated, bestselling and
award-winning Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Perfect for
both boys and girls of 8+, reluctant readers and all the
millions of devoted Wimpy Kid fans out there.
Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is
getting older really all it's cracked up to be? Suddenly Greg
is dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased
responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come
with getting older. After a fight with his best friend
Rowley, it looks like Greg is going to have to face the ugly
truth all by himself!

No Scootering in school
Please be reminded again that scootering and
riding bikes is NOT permitted in school. Whilst
we love that children use these methods of transport to get
to and from school, we must ask that they get off their
bikes and scooters at the gate and do not ride them in the
playgrounds. (or buildings).
