Nomad Fast Portable Monitoring

NomadFor Meteorological/Climate Monitoring

A truly portable monitoring station, Nomad is supplied in customised carry bags and is specifically designed for easy transportation, rapid deployment and quality of measurement. The Nomad can be deployed and be collecting data in under 5 minutes with disassembly being just as quick, allowing you to be packed and en-route to the next monitoring site without delay.

Quality construction and an integrated solar panel gives Nomad

the independence required for prolonged operation in isolated or

inhospitable environments.

The Nomad’s portability allows the user to monitor any location and as

standard measures: temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, wind

direction, solar radiation and rainfall.

NomadFor Emergency Response

The Nomad is a rapidly deployed automatic weather system which outputs data directly back to an incident command vehicle, where it can run in conjunction with AlohA® and CAMEo ® predictive software packages*, allowing appropriate evacuation and evaluation measures to be undertaken.

ALOHA® (Area Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) uses

information you input, along with data from its extensive chemical

library, to predict how a hazardous gas cloud might disperse in the

atmosphere after an accidental chemical release. The air dispersion

model predicts the downwind dispersion of a chemical cloud.

Graphical outputs include estimates of the cloud footprint, the rate and

duration of release, and chemical concentration over time.

ALOHA® can display a “footprint” plot of the area downwind of a

release where concentrations may exceed a user-set threshold level.

CAMEO®’s chemical database contains response recommendations for

about 6,000 chemicals. It also contains 80,000 chemical synonyms and

identification numbers, which can be quickly searched to identify unknown

substances during an incident. Once a chemical is identified CAMEO®

provides firefighting and spill response recommendations, physical

properties, health hazards, and first aid guidance. CAMEO® was selected by

the United Nations Environment Programme as a tool for helping developing

nations prepare for and respond to chemical accidents, and is part of the

UN HP’s Awareness and Preparedness for Emergencies at the

Local Level (APPEIX) program.

Sensus Logger

As standard the Sensus will record 149k data

sets which equates to over 3 months (recording

at 1 minute intervals).

System Expansion

Additional sensors (up to four) can be added

to the system through the use of the Nomad

‘Sensor extension unit’, this attaches directly to

the base of the tripod.

Easy Assembly

The Nomad system comprises three key components, a lightweight collapsible tripod assembly. Sensus data logger housed in IP67 enclosure (logger, solar panel and rechargeable battery) and detachable sensor array (anemometer, wind vane, temperature, humidity and solar radiation). Barometric pressure is integrated within the Sensus logger and a tipping bucket rain gauge is generally sited adjacent to the system The system comes complete with ground anchoring kit and compass for correct

station orientation. All components are housed within custom designed

carry bags for ease of transportation and system protection.

Data DeliveryNomad generated data can be retrieved directly via a laptop PC or global collection via GSM modems is fully supported.

Cable free or remote operation low power radios
