THE AEROBELT CONVEYING

SYSTEMMillions of Rands are lost annually due to breakdowns and stoppages in plants caused by failure of rollers, roller bearings or build-up of materials on rollers and increased energy requirements. The Aerobelt conveyor has eliminated these problems because it works on the air cushion principle.The conveyor belt is supported by a film of air which is provided by a blower. Even support of the belt is achieved, thus enabling the material to remain completely motionless increasing the carrying capacity, preventing spillage and prolonging the belt life.With the Aerobelt very few moving parts are used and maintenance costs are reduced. Only at the transition points such as the head and tail are guide rollers used and return idlers on the return belt. The absorbed power required, to drive the conveyors is lower than for conventional conveyors. In some instances it even results in lower KW motors being installed. The simple construction of the Aerobelt conveyor system enables fast and economic installation. Supports costs are further reduced as the nominal span of the Aerobelt system is between 12 and 20 metres between supports.
