Airline Transport Pilot Training Course On average ATPL training usually comprises about 5 hours of ground and 5 dual flight training. However, this can be tailored to your needs. Your training will be completed in either the Robinson R22 or R44 helicopter.
Requirements to be el igible to obtain an ATPL
1. At least 23 years of age 2. Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language 3. Be of good morale character 4. Holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with a Rotorcraft Category and Helicopter Class Rating with an Instrument Rating OR 5. Meets the military experience with an instrument rating OR 6. Holds a current Foreign ATPL with instrument rating 7. Hold a class I FAA Medical certificate
Examinations and Practical tests
The following tests and examinations will be required:
1. ATPL knowledge test 2. ATPL Practical test (Oral & Flight Test)
Training
Airline Transport Pilot (LAHATPAI) – R22 Based on FAA part 61 Average Completion Time
3 hours Dual training – R22
3 hours Dual training – R22 IFR
10 hours Ground training
Addit ional Cost
Books and Supplies, FAA Knowledge test, FAA practical Test , Examiner fee, FAA Practical Test – 1.5 hour Aircraft Rental, Insurance Deductible, Enrollment Fee
Completion t ime
Full Time – 5-10 days (full time assume 6 days/week and 4-6 hours training per day

10 hours Dual training – R22
15 hours Dual training – R22 IFR
40 hours Ground training
